2008 Hyundai verna 36000 Kms done.I was getting a whistel sound while driving more than 100KM/Hr. When i heard this sound i left for sevice @ Hyundai service. After inspection they said that there is a leak in turbo charger and in the near future the turbo need to be replaced which costs Rs. 70000.How ever after service i am not getting any sound. When i checked the same again with Hyundai service they said that as they had cleaned turbo, the sound is not comming, later the sound will start again. Now i am very much worried that the feed back from Hyundai service is correct or not. Hence kindly suggest me what i should do??

The only thing you can do is go by the advice from the dealer. Noone else works on these and the dealer is the only place that has parts for it. The only other option you may have is when the noise starts bak up again get a second opinion from another Hyundia dealer or an independant shop

Hi,

It would seem that your hyundai agent is not being fully straight forward with you, as for a turbo to need replacing this early is a bit of a worry, and if you brought this new then they should be replacing it under a gurantee.

Sometimes you would get this sort of problem early but a warrentee should cover it.
The whisle sound you heard could have been a fanbelt or the inlet tract may have come loose and it just needed tightening.

Just keep going with the car and if the whislte comes back then go into the Hyundai dealer and ask them to show you oil leaking from the turbo.
This is a sign that it does need replacing and the little fan in the middle of it should move up and down in the housing of the turbo quite alot.

The color of the oil will be dark to black color.

But ask about a warrenty mechanical cover first.

Hope this helps, let me know if you need more information.

Thanks

Jason

    Hi,

I dont have a warrranty. It has already expired. Yes next time if the whistel noise again appearsthen i will insist to show me the leak in turbo.

How ever i wanted to know that slight leak in turbo really needs a replacement or is there any other solution for the problem?

If the turbo is leaking oil then there is no other way but a replacement turbo, or you can have the turbo rebuilt.

It maybe cheaper just to get the turbo replaced.

    Good Luck with it.

yeah , the fluid needs to be checked, the dealer needs to pull the plug and check the levels and fill it accordingly, it my need to have a fluid change also. it sounds like a shift solenoid, but i would have the fluid checked out first.

I just purcahsed a 2003 ford excursion and I heard a whisteling sound yesterday coming from the front left tire while driving. I have noticed a fluid leaking from the left area and I went to stop this...

Sounds like you are leaking brake fluid. The grinding sound may be from the brake pad not disengaing from the rotor because of low brake fluid pressure. Have this checked immediatley you may loose all brake function!!

Hello sir i purchased a hyundai car verna in oct2009 from raghu hyundai BHIWANI-HR-16H-7070.Now i am not able to run it due to a part ECM.Agency told me that your car is in warranty so they can give me...

you should take the repaired. chances are they won't give you a new one and the repaired one will most likely also be under warranty as well. Repaired is normally very close to as good as new. Keep trying to get a new one, but if they won't give you one then the used one will probly do just as well:)
