I thought that the Hummer was one man machine which proved for the power , its machoism. Hence scaling your engine to a 4 cylinder even if the power ratio is good might take away that great advantage of its original fittings. Unless your present engine is packed up or giving poor performance , Is this going to give you any advantage. On the contrary why cant you replace the necessary spares to soup up your engine with a good service/ tuning and set up. Im sure you will **** this later when you keep the machine in original state. Imagine altering mountings, exhaust etc for the new 4 cyl engine . I hope my comment help you decide. Good day

My H2 Hummer had a computet code P003 misfire on cylinder 3.I switched the spark plug wires around now Im getting a computer code P001 multiple misfires

check engine control fuse and then switch the coil packs around again. Rescan, and see what you get. Then switch to different coils again and rescan.
Mine was a combination of a blown engine control fuse and one bad coil.
My friend had the same, but it was 2 bad plugs and one bad coil.

I drive a 2005 hummer h2. Lately my brakes have been harder harder to engage. I push the peddle and usually i dont have to apply that much pressure to stop. I have had my brakes replace with top of the...

  • Most commonly a stuck brake bad will cause the hydraulic fluid to boil and expend and then the brake pedal won't hardly move.
  • But all considering you need to replace the brake booster.
  • This is not a DIY "project. I will link you to where one is though so you can see what it looks like. http://www.partstrain.com/ShopByDepartment/Brake_Booster/HUMMER/H2/2005
  • Traditionally a bad master cylinder will give a spongy feeling to the brake pedal.

Overheating I having to put coolant in every 3 to 4 months

you may have a head gasket that is leaking coolant into the cylinder. That would explain the reason why you can't find a leak, it is going into the engine and out the exhaust. Check your oil after running the engine for a few minutes to see if it looks milky or cloudy grayish look to it. If so, then it is also leaking coolant into the engine block.

Want to buy one and I want to know what traditional problems this car may have

if you are looking for something solid then you go with an H1. something a little more affordable you get an H2(however gas mileage is about 8-10 miles to the gallon and looses power with 5 adults inside and going uphill. if all you want is the badge(HUMMER) then H3 is the one. just dont expect much from its 5 cylinder engine!!
