Hi

Please check the link bellow and read the article thoroughly to have indepth knowledge to your query…

Place the Grand Am in park and turn the ignition key to begin the engine. Allow the vehicle to warm up for ten minutes. It's best to have your vehicle running and warmed up to get the most accurate reading on your fluid levels.Open the hood of the Grand Am. Locate the automatic transmission fluid container on the driver side of the engine. The container has a red cap, which is the dipstick, and is labeled "ATF."
Remove the ATF dipstick by pulling it out of the container. Clean the dipstick with a rag and replace into the container. Remove the dipstick once again and read the measurement. The dipstick is labeled "full" and "add." When the fluid hits below the "add" line, transmission fluid is needed.

Hello

The Engine and Automatic Transmission (not applicable to manual transmissions) in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM and TCM (Power Train Control Module, Transmission Control Module). When a problem like this or other drive-ability related problems occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. Also always check fuel pressure for correct spec for your make and engine type.

Were do you put more transmisson fluid in a 2011 sedame v6

You add transmission fluid at the same place you check the level. If you do not have a dipstick to check the level it is a sealed for life transmission. There is a way to add fluid but it may be hard to find if the transmission is sealed. Call your local Kia dealer and they can tell you where to add fluid if you can without a special tool.

Trammisson presure switch

Hello, do you mean transmission pressure switch for automatic transmission? If it is an automatic ****** then there are pressure switches but there aren't called pressure switches but sensor switches. The feed real time information to the automatic transmission controller. And you are thinking I can change these sensors. No, there located under the valve body of the transmission.
Professional auto transmission technician needs to be the one to replace them. GB...stewbsion

My 4L60 transmission won't shift into 3rd and 4th gear. Where can i get a repair manual for free online.

Unless you have alot of transmission specility tools and are in position to remove and instal the transmission and have the nessary tools to do this work as you can't rent them you can save alot of money having a pro with the right tools do the work. Realize that a scanner connected to the transmission control unit may pinpoint the problem to a blown fuse, or other cause that's not even in the transmission as the comnputer calls for the shifts into these gears ands all check engine light conplaints have to be fixed if thetrans is going to bhift into the higher gears as their might not be anything at all wrong with the rtransmission.

2000 Stratus will not shift out of second

Indications are that the transmission has some serious issues. You may want to call a reputable local transmission shop and explain the situation, including the codes. They can give you your options. But I suspect you need the transmission rebuilt or replaced.

if you are not familiar with transmissions dont try it it is quite difficult it may not even be the tranny going bad it may be the shift sensor if your check engine light is on go by a check engine tool at autozone for 25.00 and check the code se what is says if it is the tranny sensor it should come op and that will be alot cheaper but if you do replace i would go new cant beat new rebuilt tranniesare not guarenteed when installed by owner anyway hope that helps

Transmission Won't Shift

The modulator is what tells the trani when to shift.. That is controled by vacuum presure.. Maybe check all the vacuum lines that lead from the trani.. Or It could be the mudulator or something else.. I belive there are some trani shops that offer free estimates..
