Well i hate to say it but, if you want to fix it then your going to need to get a new transmission. Some transmissions are not built with the best quality, Ive had a few break on me. It will cost anywhere from 1000-to 2000 dollars to fix.

if the engine hasnt ran in about 6 months you could have bad fuel, or possibly water in the fuel. they make gas restorer you can get at auto zone or you could try to add new gas. may also want to check the fuel pump and/or filter.

Nedd to see the manaul transmission gear shift

"The shift pattern is a little different, with reverse starting to the left of first, in the German (Getrag in this case) pattern rather than the "reverse-in-sixth" Japanese pattern. It's nearly always easy to find the right gear, though sometimes reverse can be tricky (presumably this gets easier with time)." moz-screenshot.png from a review I found , hope it helps. I suspect reverse is up and to the far left R 1 3

What else to check?

Check your fuse for the transmission if it is an automatic. It may have went into a limp mode without power to the soleniods as such all you will have is 2nd gear and reverse. Also the PRNDL switch may not be getting power too, so it would give you trouble starting.
