There are two possibility water can get onto the carpet.

Does your Corolla equip with air condition?

The evaporator is an important part of the air condition system.

On the lowest portion of the evaporator there is a drainage collector.
(center of the console)

When the drainage collector backup.

The carpet will collect water drips.

There are holes on the floor board of you Corolla.

These holes are used during "robotic construction" of your vehicle.

The vehicle is line up and move via these holes on the assembly line.

The last part of the construction is to place a rubber filler caps/plugs onto these holes.

One or more rubber filler caps can be missing.

You can see a sample on under the spare tire compartment.

Please take your time to inspect the bottom of the vehicle to locate the missing rubber filler plug(s).

Please email me if you has any question.

1997 burick centry custom floors stay wet

its more likely to be the drain hole for the shuttle, were the heater gets it air feed from there will be a drain for the water to get out, can get blocked with leaves etc, you may need to get your hand down there and pull out the rubbish and poke your finger in the hole to push the debris out.

Water leak on the passenger rug

You may have a buildup of A/C condensate water in the A/C cooler box. Start the car up, and run the A/C; you should start to see water dripping out from under the car onto the street. If not, the A/C condensate tube may be blocked or dislodged from the A/C box. The water then leaks out of the box onto your floor. The drain is on the pass side, under the dash, close to the center console. The pipe goes thru the body. This is a very common issue.
