  1. find the ac pump, the easyest was to find it would be to find the belt and follow the belt around till you find what looks something like the alt but bigger and there will be 2 aluminum tube comming out of it,and on these tubes there is a fitting the kinda looks like a valve stem on your tire and that is what your going to hook to refill your ac, hope this helps

The air conditioner turns its self off and on when it is on it's very cold but it won't stay on. Help

Might be low on refrigerant, there is a switch that will cycle the compressor off if the refrigerant pressure gets too low on the low pressure side.

If you ever see frost blow out of the vents when the AC is working it's another indication of low refrigerant charge.

Air conditioner will not blow out cold air and we just put in coolant, what could be the problem? it is a 1996 grand am v6

you really need to service an air conditioner with all the professional tools what are the pressures on the low side and the high side ? what coolant did you put in ? and how much ? r134a will only work if its done right too much and it will blow warm too little and the same thing you need the right amount did you change the receiver drier ? its a moisture filter it only works for about 5 years or once it gets moisture in it then its no good and needs to be changed also most gm's use an orifice tube filter in the high side line it too needs to be checked and cleaned or replaced . if the gauge needles are jumping around the compressor is bad . if the pressure is high on the low or high side over specs = no cold air . hope this helps

Im looking for the low port to add air conditioning fluid to my 96 audi a4 (non quattro)

You need special adapter , available from dealer only.
Low pressure switch has to be taken out and adapter installed insted.
I also heard rumor that you can charge system through high side at 3000 rpm , but never tried it , sience I have an adapter.

I really want to inflate the air compressure properly to my Toyota 1996 camary. how mcuh should i inflate? and 2400lb equal to how many psi?

If your talking about your tires, there is usually a sticker on the door jam on the driver side door. If you can't find it 32lbs. is good.

Im trying to charge the air conditioner in my 2000 olds intrigue gls which is the high side and low side i would also like to know on the temperature control it says econo, i know it has air but it isnt...

If it's a 3.5l, high side is near the air cleaner, low side is at the firewall. Econo means compressor is OFF when light is ON (backwards). A low charge will cause hot air on left and cold air on right vents.

1996 toyota tercel air conditioner will not work

Hello, and welcome to FixYa. Let us try to help.

Yes, you read correctly; if the refrigerant charge is low,or the refrigerant has leaked out, the AC compressor will not activate. Pressure switches built into the system inturupt the power to the AC clutch if there is insufficient system pressure.

I would suggest taking the vehicle to a qualified garage, and have the service tech there hook his set of 'AC Gauges" to the car. After he does that, he can tell you if you need a partial charge, of if you system is empty. I would def recommend the car be checked with the AC gauges; as adding refrigerant to the system without knowing how much is currently in it can damage the compressor.

Thanks for choosing FixYa for advice!

Wow! What a helpful site! Fifty people asking where the low pressure port on the a/c is, not one answer! a simple diagram would suffice! Its not like we're asking what if my car makes a punkata punkata noise, where the hell is the damn port? a picture, drawing, general location... screw it im gonna put it on the high pressure side(clearly visible) and then sue g.m. when it blows in my face, like their mom
