Vehicle is loosing several qrts of oil between oil changes

    THAT IS USELESS INFO, NEED TO KNOW HOW MANY MILES PER QUART, ANYTHING AROUND 1000 MILES IS CONSIDERED NORMAL OIL USEAGE BY THE AUTO INDUSTRY.

Well with out very much information, id say it was your oil pan gasket or your valve cover gasket

remove the oil drain plug to take some oil out. as long as you get oil in engine it will smoke until it is burn off.

start with 4 qts. then start car for 30 sec. to a minute and then check oil level with dip stick it should hold 4 to 4.5 qrts.

hi, ok. if your torque converter is full then, you will need 5 qrts. if the torque converter and tranny is bone. it will need 8 qrts.

1995 dodge avenger,put 3 qrts of oil in yesterday oil light came on this morning. checked oil level, reads nothing.oil leak under car above exhaust pipe half way back. near boot axle.


I would have to say loose oil pan or if your car has an oil cooler check the lines that run to it as in time these can wear out or develop holes that would leak the amounts of oil you are loosing.
