SOURCE: 2001 jaguar s-type 4.0 oil in spark plug area

Hi bravo956
i also have the same problem regarding the oil leak. this is due to the spark plug gasket leaking and you will need to replace them. they are circular gaskets about 1.5 inches across that fit to the underside of the rocker covers and prevent oil from seeping down the long spark plug hole. when i investigated my leak i assumed it was just the rocker cover gasket that was leaking but once everything was removed it is obvious.

SOURCE: cant find the spark plug location on 2002 4cyl tacoma

Locate the spark plug cover on the engine. On some Toyota Tacoma engines, the cover is across the top of the engine. On others, it is along the side 4 cyl. Remove the cover to reveal the ignition coils and spark plugs wires. The spark plug wires are plugged directly into the engine and the ignition coils are in the tip of the spark plug wire.
Remove the coil and wire from the spark plug. Twist and pull the plug out of the engine. Remove the spark plug from the cylinder well with a socket extender and socket wrench. Turn the wrench to the left to unscrew the spark plug from the engine.

Discard the old spark plug and apply a coat of anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plug.

Insert the new spark plug into the socket. Use the socket and extension to screw the spark plug into place.

Return the ignition coils and spark plug wires to the engine and turn it to lock the plug in place. Repeat the entire the process with the remaining spark plugs.

Replace the spark plug cover when all of the spark plugs are replaced.

Good luck and hope this helps and The spark plug tension may range between 11 and 15 foot pounds, depending on the size of the spark plug. The correct tension is indicated on the spark plug's packaging.

SOURCE: how can you test the spark plug coils, what is the

Dear Pablo,
You can check the input voltage at each coil. This way you make sure you have the proper amount to operate. Disconnect the six ignition coil connections. Turn the ignition key on. Check the voltage at Cyl #1 B/Y wire, Cyl#2 B/U wire,Cyl #3 B/O, Cyl#4 B/G, Cyl#5 B/R, Cyl#6 B/W and ground. It should be 10.5V or higher. If not,you need to find the cause of the voltage drop.
If ok, you can test the resistance of each coil. At the coil, measure the resistance across the primary windings. It should measure between 0.50 Ohms ans 1.00 Ohms.
I hope this information is helpful. If you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks,Chuck.

Once the plastic covers over the valve covers have been removed you will see the coli packs. Remove the 2 screws holding these in place and this will give you direct acess to the spark plugs.

How do I change the plugs on my 2002 jaguar x-type 2.5 v-6?

Disconnect the negative battery cable. Then start at the front of your engine. Pull the spark plug wire off the spark plug from the boot that covers the spark plug. Remove spark plug from engine block, take new spark plug, check for proper gap and adjust if necessary, and then install new one into block. Repeat for the rest of the plugs. Re-connect negative battery cable and you should be good to go.

How do i change the spark plugs on a 2002 jaguar s-type v8 i cant locate where they are? i pulled off what i thought was it and it looks like some kind of injector of some sort but i cant see the plugs...

The the injector are hook up to a fuel rail, the coil pack's and you have 8 on them sit almost next to the fuel injector's, the coil pack's are held on with a 8mm bolt, there round looking on top about 2" in dim. with a clip on connector, remove small bolt pull up on coil pack, coil pack will have a boot at the end, down in that hole will be the spark plug's, no rail or tube will be hooked to the coil pack, just the harness.Spark plug gap .50, but if your using Platinun +2 or +4 not adjustable. Hope this was very helpful.
