1999 honda passport tensioner pully


Possibly, I would check alignment of the pulleys, they should all be on the same plane. Run the engine and watch it.

There is a squeeking noise changed belt and pully still squeeking


It might be the tensioner. This is a fairly common problem. Locate the tensioner, usually located towards the top of the motor. Try to spray some lubricant inside the tensioner. Look for a spot on the back of it where there is an opening. If this doesn't work, then you might have to replace it.

I already replaced the belt, could it be defective if the squeeking is still there. 2000 rodeo 6cylinder tension pulley, can you adjust these


I am sure your new belt is fine.The tensioner will automaticaly adjust to the correct belt tension on its own.If You are convinced the squeeking is comming from the tensioner pully bearing then you need to replace it.Or you can do a quick check, by putting a wrench on it the same way you did to replace the belt.Pull and lift tensioner up and away from the belt and with your free hand spin the pully if it squssks or is rough to spin then it needs to be replaced, do this test with (Engine Not Running).Good Luck and have a good XMASS.

Without the belt do all the pulleys turn easy. Power steering, water pump, alternator, and tensioner pulley. There is probably only one way the belt will stay on but make sure you have the smooth side to the smooth pulley and the grooved side to the grooved pulleys. See if any of the pulleys have and wiggle in them.

hi from uk the cambelt/timing belt comes as a kit ie timing belt and tensioner cost £50 here in uk ? it is not too difficult diy job approx 2hours the engine must 1st be set to TDC number 1 firing then at this setting the cam cog mark is a hole drilling in the web of cog and should line up at 12 oclock upwards and using a mirror look thro drill hole and you will see a vertical notch/groove behind on font engineface this is correct mark the crank cog mark lines up with aother mark on engine front face at approx 12 30 pm oclock ? if now set you slacken tensioner bolts and push t/pully away to left from belt ? then remove belt next remove complete tensioner assy after undoing bolts then fit new tensioner push t/pully to left from belt run and lock bolt/s recheck t/marks then fit new belt from c/shaft in anticlockwise rotation when fitted release tensioner bolt and allow to tension belt push t/pully onto belt and lock up tensioner bolts20=27 Nm rotate engine manually for four turns then recheck marks ? should still aligne then re assemble torque crank bolt to =140-150 Nm A LITTLE HINT ? b4 you remove the water pump belt ? slacken thefour 10 mm headed bolts (spanner size) that secure w/pump pully to pump it will be easier to halt rotation of pully if you holt belt tight by hand this pully has to come off to remove c/belt covers same for power steer belt which is also driven from the w/pump pully the power steer pump slide adjuster has a 12 mm bolt you slacken and best done with open end spanner ? after slackening the pump mounting bolts/nuts underneath pump hope you can follow this info/tips wish you good luck from uk

remove aux drive belt and run engine
if noise goes then you have a noisy pully (poss tensioner pully and unit or crank pully)
if it is still there it will probably be the tensioner on the cam belt

The ABS light could be just a misaligned sensor on the wheel or even a dirty harness plug in, many times repaired by just cleaning.
You should I would check out the pulleys and belt tensioner very soon as when they began making noises they can swarm very quickly causing damage to several items.

Channged waterpump now sqeeks at belt pully


check the pulley bearing if it's an older belt try cleaing the **** out of it
usualy serp belts collect small particles and lodge them in the grooves it will squeek if **** in groves

Could be several things. WHICH ENGINE?.. 4 cylinder (has three belts, power steering/water pump, alternator & A/C compressor, one tensioner pully A/C compressor), The V6 2.7 (has only one belt, 1 Idler pully and 1 tensioner pully), the V6 3.5 has two belts - A/C/alternator, and power steering - there are two tensioner pullys). Noises can be caused by the belt(s) themselves, pullys, bearings, pully bearings, water pump shaft bearings (or belts/pullys rubbing up against something). Let's not forget that there is also belt(s) behind the Timing Belt cover as well as pullys and bearings associated with the timing system. You could start by removing one accy drive belt at a time (alternator, water pump, compressor, power steering, etc) to see whether or not the noise goes away in each case. If after each case, you discover the noise is still there, it's probably behind the timing belt cover (idler/tensioner pully, water pump shaft bearing, crankshaft bearing, etc.). Good Luck

are you sure its the belt. i had a similar problem with my dodge caravan, i thought it was the belt but it ended up being one of the pullys was squeeking, and also the pully on the belt tensioner.
