My 99 dodge durango has a 'no bu5' code on the mileage abd it wont start at all. how do i fix this?

No bus message on the instrument cluster mean's there is a serial data bus problem . All the module's (computers) on your vehicle are connected on the CCD data network . They share information on the network . A shorted bus wire , a module malfunctioning an bring down the network can cause modules not to send and receive data which would cause a no start .

Hard to start after sit for 15 to 20 min. have changed fuel pump & all sencers that can think of acts like its loosing the fuel to me but not sure?

you need to check the fuel pressure, running it should be around 50psi. and after shutting down try to start, fuel pressure should jump to 50 psi within 1-2 seconds. if it has to build up you have fuel bleeding down somewhere. I have run into dirty injectors that are dribling after shut down causing a semi-flooding condition also there is a check valve in the fuel pump which is supposed to hold fuel in the system for the next start.

a bad cam or crank sensor can cause a no start and a no bus meessage in the cluster if the are shorted. if possible try unplugging them one at a time and see if the no bus message disappears

Car keeps shutting off

After extensive research I have found that in 10 out of ten cases it was the E.C.M or in other words the computer for the vehicle is faulty. You can thank dodge for this problem. What happens is they put a Temperature sensitive device in an area that gets unbelievably hot. Then the Computer overheats and shuts down. In most cases the control panel in the vehicle where the odometer is says "No Bus"
The only way to fix this problem is to put a new computer in. DO NOT buy one from the dealership they are too pricey. Get on off of Ebay. For the extremely mechanical Savy you can do what I did in my durango. I carefully cut the tape away from the main harness then marked everything and cut the harness drilled a hole through my firewall (Just be careful where you drill) fed the harness through and reconnected my computer and mounted it under the dash so when it is extremely hot here in arizona the A/C Keeps the computer cool. With this method I have NEVER had this problem happen to me.
Just don't do this if vehicle is under warranty it will violate the ciditions of the warranty. Hope this helps. I have seen this problem posted to other sites and am just trying to let everyone know what it is and How to fix it.
