Question about Subaru Outback

1 Answer

I have a 2001 Subaru Outback VDC. I got a 606 code (pulled the code via Autozone) and then yesterday I started to also get a 303 code. Both are engine misfires. What happens is that I start the car and it runs rough. The Check Engine Light is flashing on and off. After 3 to 5 minutes, the engine smoothes out and the car runs fine. I first put in Gumout Fuel Injection Cleaner. After that didn't work, I took it to Merlins and they indicated either a spark plug cover or Coil Pack (for cylinders 3 and 6). I then took it to a Subaru dealership who tells me I need to replace all 6 injectors. Any possible help will be appreciated.

OK you got a 606 nd 303 code both for engine misfires.
3 and 6 cylinders getting a misfire.

I wouldn't change the injectors right off the bat.
Coil pack could be causing the miss, but it could also be the ecm that is not firing the coil pack or the injector for cylinders 3 and 6.

I know this may seem confusing.

Good luck on this one.

Even with the VDC light on it shouldn't fishtail. Unless you have a lead foot or the tires are bald. Best to have the codes read. Could just be a bad wheel sensor.

You need to get the VDC system repaired. Either the rear wheels are not working @ all or very inefficiently.

VDC Light stays on, then start to heats up

test the scanner and computer test for most effective result.
However see if fan/waterpump drive belt is slipping. Coolant is frozen
inlet or outlet water hoses are clogged or kinked. Coolant tube is blocked. Temperature gause is defective. Water pump defective. Fan is too far from radiator,(close it) .Defective water distribution tube. replace the tube. Fan insuficient blade are or pitch replace with large fan or with more blades.
God bless you

2001 subaru outback parking lights stay on with key off

Go to Autozone, com and register your car on their site. They have fusebox layouts. It sounds like a relay is sticking in the light relays.

I hope my solution is helpful.

I was getting a 606 error and now a 303 error came up also.

I need to know the year, make, and model for your Subaru Outback.

I'll guess a year and then base the response on a 2000 Subaru Outback

P0606 ECM/PCM Processor
P0303 Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected

This points to a possible ECM processor causing a misfire on cylinder 3, but there are no guarantees that changing the ecm will solve this problem.

2000 Subaru legacy outback 2.5L DTC P0420 code will not clear. I replaced the rear O2 sensor and the CEL is still on. I used the scan tool to clear the code but it will not clear.

that code is saying you have a problem with that system. if you go to autozone thay can print that code out for that tells you what to check. other then that you may need to get it diagnosed by a professional
