Question about 1999 Pontiac Montana

1 Answer

I have rust beneath my 1999 Pontiac Montana 3.4 V6 Extend Van. I believe this is called the rocker panels and they are located directly beneath both sliding doors. The rest of the van looks great except for this particular body part. I was wondering if there are replacement parts for this body section. Thank You.

You can get direct replacements from a dealr or patern parts from a bodyshop,as they are part of the chassis, the last thing you want is a cowboy fitting them, get em done properly ,unless you know about welding that is.....and inject with rust inhibitor after fitting.

Gas gauge works funny

this problem is caused by a defective gas gage sending unit (also called a fuel level sensor), the sending unit is located inside the gas, you must remove the tank from the Van to serive the part.

How to change thermostat on a 2002 Pontiac Montana

I believe the Montana has a 3.4 Liter V6 Engine.
This thermostat is located under the exhaust "crossover" pipe that runs between both the front and rear cylinder heads. Divers side.
Remove the heat shields (10mm bolts) and then the nuts on the exhaust studs. (6 total)
Two bolts hold the T stat housing to the intake.

Changing the starter solenoid on a 2000 Pontiac Montana

On your van the solenoid is attached to the starter. If you can get a solenoid separate (i don't know if you can) then you will need to take the starter off and remove the solenoid (2 screws holding it on) and the wires (on red and one black i believe) pay attention to which wire goes where because you don't want to reverse it on the new solenoid.

HI.....
On your PONTIAC MONTANA,
You don;t have to WORRY about the timing belt.
Because your have use a TIMING CHAIN.
And is suposed to be good for the life of the engine.
But you can replace, if you Know that is bad, making grinning noise,.
But DON'T for maintenance.
Is very small. that mean Hard to come damaged.

I hope this information work for you. and resolve your question.
