Sounds like the ignition switch is defective, power from the coil comes from the ignition switch on the steering column

Having electrical problems with my 88 suzuki smaurai. New battery and new alternater. seems to drain almost immediatly ifi turn o any auxillary items such as head lights or whippers.

had the same thing happen to mine, apparently the ground wire was so corroded inside the insulation that the alternator could not charge the battery, soo replaced both cables and have never had that prob. since.

Suzuki samurai is getting 12olts to coil but no spark out of coil wire, tried a good coil, ecm, and a good distributer still no spark. Could it be my iginition switch

connect a fast light to the positive side of the battery, then touch the negative side of the coil. have someone to start the vehicle to see if the light flashes. if it doesn't flash the you need to check for broken wires or bad connections to the distributor. if it does flash then the good coil isn't any good.

Left key on while fixing rear lights. only way it will start if i put a wire from hot side of battery to Coil. before this it started perfect

sounds like you have burnt or damaged a connection ,quickest way is to rewire from ignition switch to the coil

I have a 1990 suzuki samurai, engine turns over but no sdpark. changed coil and ignition module. still no spark. what next?

Try checking the contacts between the rotor button and the distributor cap, particularly the center contact to the coil. Hopefully your problem is there because 1990 and later samurais were fuel injected and notorious for faulty ecm's and if I remember correctly it can be close to $1000 for a new one and $200+ for a repair job.

Won't start not even click

I am pretty sure you have a bad solenoid on your starter. Sometimes if you tap on them while someone holds the key in start they will make contact and it will start. Best solution is replace solenoid. You can check it by having someone hold the key in start and measure the voltage from the small wire to ground, if it is bad you will have voltage but it will not even click. Hope that helps you.
