Recuerde que el cable positivo de la batería al motor de arranque es eléctrico "calientes" todo el tiempo. Debe abrir el circuito desconectando el cable negativo de la batería antes de reparar el motor de arranque.

Replace starter cable

Take the ground wire - and positive wire + off. Get a replacement cable, take the nut off the holds the cable to the starter. Install the new cable on the starter, then install the other end to + of the battery. Finally install ground wire - on the battery. Please rate my answer so I am rewarded points for it.

Starter or solenoid

The Ford 7.3L diesel engines require a LOT of power to crank them over. The FIRST thing to check would be the battery and battery cables. If you are absolutely certain that these are in good condition, then you must check for power coming from the starter relay (mounted on the right fender apron) to the starter solenoid (part of the starter assembly)

The "click" you are hearing is either the starter relay or the starter solenoid, or BOTH at the same time. If the starter relay is providing the correct power to the starter solenoid, then the starter assembly must be replaced. If the starter relay is not providing the correct power, then most likely the starter relay is bad.

You just have to check for the proper current at the proper places and the problem will be found.
Please note that your truck is also most likely equipped with 2 batteries. One battery being bad can cause BOTH of them to not work properly. So when you test your batteries, it is best to disconnect them and test each battery on its own merit.

Car starting problem, but if I connected a wire from the starter to the battery it starts fine. Is there a security system in between the starter and battery that I can disable? Is it the security or...

I believe what you are looking at would be the starter solenoid. For the cost, you may want to replace the starter with the solenoid - depending upon the vehicle. You really should inquire on that.

I have a 1991 nissan king cab and when i turn the key to on, all electronics in the cab work, fan lights radio ect, then i turn it to start and nothing happens, not a click not turning over nothing....

You could be correct, if the starter solenoid is bad and not making contact it will kill the entire electrical system and also not engage the starter motor. I would replace the solenoid. Please rate this answer, thanks.

I own a ford e-250 79. when cold it's start nice

Hello tchuire13: My name is Roger and I will help you. The problem you describe is that of a bad starter. When the bushings wear down the armature will touch the fields inside the starter case. This happens when the starter is warm. Starter will generally work fine cold. After a heat soak the starter acts up. Replacement of the starter should cure your problem. SHould you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer you received. This is how we know you received the correct answer to your question. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

Need to replace starter need info on how to do it.

chb725: If you go to mybunkey solutions and see the heading " "Starter, battery and alternator ok", you will find that I have given instructions for the removal and installation of a starter for a 1995 Nissan Maxima, in great detail.
The instructions include the tools needed, proceedures in a sequence more detailed (which you will not find in any book) and precautions to be taken during the removal and installation of the starter.
I hope this will provide the answer you are looking for. If not, I will await a more detailed request from you.
