You have to remove the steering column. Best to find a repair book with instructions. Lost key? or what? If you lost the key take your VIN # , and proof of ownership, to a chev dealer and they can cut you another one.

    we have same problem reason we need to take it out to replace it as the key will not turn in it . Anyone else have this probleM?

check your steering colom it may be stuck use force move it left then right at the same time while turninig the key

My ignition switch is messed-up and i can't turn the switch. how can i take it out or fix it?


Take the steering wheel off and steering colom apart. Then it has a torx bit screw under the rotar for airbag.. And its a bitsh. You will have to buy a steeringwheel puller Have you tried getting a new key made?

'91 mustang gt starts but shuts off in the run position


One of the wires on your ignition feed is possibly wrong, causing the engine to switch off when leaving the ignition.

Ignition Stuck


there is a lever located near the ignition lock inside of the colom. it is a manual release. try that and it usauly solves the issue permenitly.

Lost keys


you need to remove the steering wheel and the wheel lock collar then remove the signal switch plate.....on the left side of the steering shaft there is a single screw remove it and the ignition switch will slide out

Steering colom will not let key turn


Try this if steering wheel is turned slightly to one side meaning front wheels turn steering wheel to that sam side take strain off the lock in steering column and key should turn. I believe that the steering wheel is locked. If it doesn't work turn left or right and try again. Good Luck and contact if you need more help.
