Question about 1993 Volkswagen Eurovan

My 02 vauxhall vivaro wont rev above 3000 engine tix over perfect did have a slight leak on injector rail but tightened that up and now no diesel drips.any ideas.

SOURCE: vauxhall vivaro wont start cold

Sounds like a faulty cold start assistor. On top of the engine you will find an aluminium housing with four things that look like glow plugs screwed into it. These 'glow plugs' are only available complete with the housing fron Vauxhall. Approx £70 +
Airbag light is probably a fault with the seatbelt pretensioner.
Check the wiring under the seats for damage or perhaps the plugs have pulled apart.

slave cylider is prone on this van the gear box has to be removed and new clutch fitted as the cylinder leakes fliud in the box get ride before it goes completly it is a very costly job!!!!!!!!!!! thanks jezza

Vauxhall signum 1.9 diesel 2006. High revs on start up and no throttle response


You have a draw leak in your fuel line causing it to do just what you've explained. Between the tank and fuel/injector pump and filter, it's sucking in air and pushing the air into the cylinders with the fuel cause a rich, very rich condition and that's why it is revving very high. Find and fix the line leak, start it up and stay at the switch in case of over-rev, until it calms down after getting all the air out of the system. I've been thru this a few times friend and it's a real pain not knowing the problem. Now YOU know.

I have a vauxhall vectra 2,0 litre diesel design. The car is in limp mode. Wont rev above 3000rpm. It feels like the turbo isn't coming in. The engine management light is on const. Any ideas


need to be plugged in to diagnostic machine to give you the problem
car will stay in limp/home mode till its cleared with the machine..

If question is how to tell when no. 1 piston is a TDC, remove spark plug (unless diesel) and insert plastic straw as you turn engine over by wrench. You should be able to tell when piston reaches top and starts back down. Other method is to remove cam covers and find when intake is closing and exhaust is not yet opening.

Why wont it rev above 2000 rpm?


diesel? won't rev above 2k is because it's being fuel starved , ck filter ,.lift pump , injector rail pressure reg.

2001 izuzu tropper 3000 wont start... Injectors replaced, 12V ok on the injectors, Can it be anything related with the oil pressure on the rail (injectors)?


oil viscosity is very important, and yes if the rail oil pressure sensor is not reading correctly at least 3 to 5 Mpa while cranking the injectors will not be turned on by the engine ecu. if you can get a scan tool look at rail oil pressure sensor reading just after cranking it should drop to 0 to 0.5 Mpa if any different its no good, also check for oil leaking out of main injector harness connector near engine oil dip stick if oil leaking out of connector this pressure switch which is in oil rail under rocker cover is no good and injector harness needs replacing this is very common.

I have an Isuzu Bighon 1998 3.0 Diesel Dotch Engine which i purchased second hand. It is absolutely great when the engine is hot. It has issues with starting especially after being parked for more than 4...


ISUZU HAS A RECALL ON LEAKY INJECTORS ON THAT TRUCK GIVE THEM A CALL The injectors use the engine oil at very high pressure to inject the fuel, and semi synth oil just can't withstand these high pressures for very long. It breaks down, loses it's viscosity, and then the injectors won't work properly.
Change the oil to fully synth, and you should see a huge difference. (Do both oil filters while you're at it too).
1. Injectors. Usually the electronics in them fail and cause a miss fire.

2. Injector Sleeves. Causing diesel to leak into the sump and in severe cases the oil/diesel mixture filling up to such an extent that the vehicle actually runs on its own, on the mixture. This can cause the engine to rev to the maximum until all the oil/diesel mixture is burned or the engine basically destroys itself.

3. Rail Pressure Sensor. If the E.C.U cant determine what pressure is at the rail the vehicle may not start or stop running . A fairly simple fix with only the rocker cover needing to come off.

4. Rail Pressure Control Valve. This controls the pressure supplied to the rail. Engine will not start if this control valve is faulty.

5. Turbocharger. A very unreliable unit. Seals usually go after 50000miles.

6. Dual Mass Flywheel. Seldom give trouble but I have seen a few that have. If the new flywheel is taken off and not put back in the same way as the old one (lined up via a half moon shaped mark) the engine will not start as the flywheel sensor will be unable to determine the position of the flywheel.

7. Throttle Position Sensor. Fairly troublesome. Usually no deteriation in driveability but will bring on the engine light.

The engine is a gem when running correctly but unfortunately its a rare occurrence. I think the 02 onwards models had a lot of modifications done to them such as improved injectors etc.

99 audi a4 1.9 td red i starts perfect but has a misfire when cold and wont rev over 3000 revs and puts out a bluish white smoke but if i bring it for small drive turn it off for few mins and start it...


first check your glow plugs that they are not faulty,if faulty replace them,then get a bottle of injector cleaner and put it in your fuel take and replace your diesel filter,and also change your oil and oil filter,maybe your hydralic lifters are not preasurising when cold
