"Random Cylinder Misfire" 2005 Dodge Neon

My car has a "random Cylinder Misfire" issue. I have made sure no bad gas since that was the last thing I did before it started sputtering and acting like it wants to die. I then replaced Wires and spark plugs. Worked perfect riding around and then by morning it started do the same. Any suggestions?

Find a station that sells gas for small engines... it is non oxygenated (non E85) and try it again. These are usually the stations that sell only mid octaneg gas (like 89-90-91) and that is all they sell but a nickel cheaper than the low octane 87 at another station.

Their are less additives with it and it solves MANY car gas related problems. It;s a geat tip for those with old cars out there suffering from vaporlock, too.

Sometimes you can get carbon traces across the distributor or coil areas. A good wipe down with a good cleaning solvent can help this. IT's fairly common and in a newer car like yours I;d suspect something more superficial like this.

I have a 2000 Dodge Stratus with a random misfire on 1,3 and 5. The engine runs fine besides a twitch in the motor that can be felt while idling. Already replaced plugs and wires. Suggestions?

get the OBD codes read this will tell you which switch/sensor is causing the issue , the last random misfire i encountered turned out to be low cylinder compression so if the OBD code says " random misfire " then get the cylinder compressions read , hope this helps

I'm trying to find out what po303 and po300 means

P0300: Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P0303: Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected
It looks like cylinder 3 isn't firing properly.

Multiple random misfire cylinder 3 misfire

Is the fuel reaching the cylinder, is there compression in that hole? Any intake manifold vacuum leaks?

Po300,301,302,161,306 code numbers, what are they.upon acceleration it is like gas is having problem being sent to engine

P300 is random multiple misfire,301 is cylinder 1 misfire. 302 is cylinder 2 misfire & 306 is cylinder 6 misfire. P161 is a bad heater circuit in oxygen sensor bank 2 sensor 2. It is behind catalytic convertor. I would replace downstream oxygen sensor & clear codes. Run vehicle it may be all that is wrong.

Hooked up computer to dodge ram 1500 4.7 liter magnum code came up p300 p301 what does this mean

P0300 is the random misfire code. P0301 is the misfire code for Cylinder #1. When was your last tune up? non platinum spark plugs should be replaced around 30-60k along with the wires. With platinum plugs that extends out to 100k. I would try a tune up first plugs and wires. Reasonably cheap fix that is a prevenitive maintenace item anyways. If you have just recently had a tune up or it does not solve your problem you most likely have a bad coil pack on cylinder#1.

Hope This Helps.

Engine code p 3000 p3001 on a 2005 dodge sx 2.0

if the codes are p3000 and p3001 then I am at a loss, I can't find these codes anywhere.
However if the codes are p0300 and p0301 then here they are
if that is the problem it sounds like it may be time for a tune-up, plugs n wires. hope this helps you

Code 301, random or cylinder 1 misfire

Spake pluge could have gone bad, or the Spark Plug wire. Try changing all your plugs and wire and inspect the old one's. The wire could be bad do to time or may have been against the exhaust manifold and brunt. Good luck

This is a pretty common problem. I would change your valve cover gaskets. They run around ~ 50 bucks. If they are bad it will leak oil into spark plug well and cause a misfire. Very known on the 740.. Also if tune was not anytime not too long ago id change spark plugs while you at it. Then clear the computer and if you still get misfire on 8 try changing the ignition coil which is right about the cylinder with cylinder ignition coil 5. clear the computer. if you get random misfire and misfire cyclinder 5 after then its your ignition coil. parts store runs around 100 bucks
