Question about Cars & Trucks

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 4.7 Magnum 2WD. I popped the thermostat out and need to know the right position to install the new one. Does the spring side of the thermostat go into the block or in the hose?

The spring goes in to the block. It stretches with the heat, It usually only fits one way, so that you can't get it backwards, Hope this helps.

Anyone know where the thermostat is located on 2005 Dodge magnum 3.5L

Just follow the upper radiator hose. It will lead right to the thermostat housing which should have 3 bolts holding the housing on. Thermostat is directly underneath.

Need to know which man is right. How many spark plugs in a 2005 Dodge Ram with a 4.7L Magnum?

The 4.7L engine has 8 spark plugs and 8 coils. The 5.7L has 16 spark plugs fired by 8 coils. Tha't's usually where the confusion between these two motors comes into play.

Which way does the spring side of the thermostat go? Toward the motor or the hose for a 2002 Dodge Ram V8 4.7?

The spring side should go into the housing. So that way when it reading the temp the spring can adjust accordingly.

My 1997 dodge ram 5.9 1500 2wd will not shift thr...

There are many things to consider with an automatic. Check that you have installed the kick down cable and spring correctly. If the kickdown is stuck or the spring is holding it in the wrong direction this will cause your problem. Insure your 8 pin plug is seated properly into into the sillinoid connector. Also check and see if any transmission codes have been set. Hope this helps.

Where is the egr valve on a 2005 godge ram trk, 1500 2wd with a 5.7lt hemi

A new EGR Valve that comes from Dodge them selfs will go for around 50$

- as for replacing, the EGR valve has 4 bolts, and on this year ram in right in front of the passenger side head. Be careful not to mix up the wiring.

Car will start right up but will not go into gear

There is a possibility that the plastic pieces that allow the shifter to move and slide have broken. You need to remove the console shroud and pieces to be able to see the shifter. There should be two pieces of plastic usually pink or yellow in color with a spring attatched (the spring depresses when the button on the shifter is pressed). Sometimes these plastic pieces break and blocks the shifter from moving.

You can get a factory service manual with complete removal instructions and pictures from here. 2005 Dodge Magnum Service Manual.
