Its the bulb that needs to be replaced. You'll have to pull out the gauge cluster and replace the bulb. I don't have a part number off-hand, but I know they sell replacements at AutoZone for a fact.

2002, 2500 Chevy Diesel guage reads empty when not, new sending unit in forunt tank.

you need to verify that you have voltage going to the sending unit, about 5volts=dim test light,if you do now jump the two wires together and see if your gauge goes to full,if your gauge goes to full its not gauge or wires but only your new sending unit.

Pontiac Sunfire Dashboard Guages don't Work

Dashboard gauges have a wiring problem. Most Sunfires have these especially late models. It's a common defect. While the gauges will run fine most of the time, the primary instigator is heat. The more the car heats up inside the cabin, the more the gauges will stick. So keep the inside cool, and you'll be fine. Trying to replace with Chevrolet Cobalt gauges. I'll tell you if they work.

2004 Dodge Stratus gas guage starts to go empty

You likely need a new fuel sending unit (it's in the trunk, and is what drives the gauge).
