SOURCE: 2006 Dodge Ram Ac Issue

Most likely you have a leak. Turn the air conditioner on high and look at the compressor on the engine if it turns for a few seconds and turns off you may be low on freon. If it does not turn at all you may be very low on freon in both cases it needs to be recharged, you should also try to find the leak and repair it to. Also check the condenser in front of the radiator to make sure nothing is blocking it. Good luck with it.

SOURCE: left low beam is out on my 2006 dodge ram 1500 4.7

I'd still vote for the bulb being bad. The high and low beams use two different filaments, so unless the bulb is physically broken, it is common for the low beam to be bad whilst the high beam is good.

That's why you see some people driving around with their high beams on -- they don't want to get stopped for a 'light out' citation..

When you take the bulb out to replace it, be sure to look at how it is mounted before removing. You don't want to accidently adjust your headling out of kilter.

good luck

2006 dodge Ram 1500 will not shift in reverse has codes P0736 and P1790 ?

the 1790 is a range display code, make sure your shift linkage is adjusted correctly 0736 is reverse out of range (rpm) which could mean possible shift linkage, or solenoid problem, or worst case internal problem with low reverse clutch or band, check fluid condition and level if its burnt your most likely going to have an internal problem if not run a scanner for possible adjustment or solenoid failure

Why does the tachometer shows 250rpm at idle of 750rpms ?

The low reading tach issue is due to one or several microchips soldered on to back of cluster circuit board have either weak or cracked solder connections. These weak connections will cause the tach to read incorrect. Over time, the tach reading will become more erratic until complete failure occurs. An electronics repair shop or automotive gauge repair service should be able to correct this issue at a reasonable cost compared to $900+ replacement cost at a dealership. Good luck. 2006 Dodge 2500 Diesel. The RPM gauge will show 3000rpms at 30MPH, basically the gauge is reading erratically.

Are you sure you are not in too low of a gear? Please tell me this is not so. If you are in fourth or fifth gear at low cruising speeds and RPMs do not match the audible sound of your motor, then you could possibly have a bad engine speed/reference sender (Crank and/or Cam), or faulty instrument cluster or ECM/BCM.

How do I check and possibly replace the engine oil pressure sensor in a 2006 GMC Envoy Denali?

Oil Pressure Test Check for proper oil pressure at the sending unit passage with an externally mounted mechanical oil pressure gauge. A tachometer may also be needed, as some specifications may require running the engine at a specific RPM.
  1. While the engine is cold, locate and remove the oil pressure sending unit.
  2. Following the manufacturer's instructions, connect a mechanical oil pressure gauge and, if necessary, a tachometer to the engine.
  3. Start the engine and allow it to idle.
  4. Note and record the oil pressure reading when the engine is cold. The engine may need to run at a specified RPM, if so check the vehicle's specification.
  5. Run the engine until normal operating temperature is reached.
  6. Check the oil pressure reading again with the engine hot and record the value. Turn off the engine.
Compare the hot oil pressure reading to the specification. If the reading is low, check the cold pressure reading against the specification. If the cold pressure is well above the specification, and the hot reading was lower than the specification, the engine may have the wrong viscosity oil. Change the oil, making sure to use the proper grade and quantity, and then repeat the test.
Low oil pressure readings could be attributed to internal component wear, pump related problems, a low oil level, or oil viscosity that is too low. High oil pressure readings could be caused by an overfilled crankcase, too high of an oil viscosity or a faulty pressure relief valve.

TACHOMETER WORKS INTERMITTENT

Do you have engine code showing by chance? It's possible the crank sensor is bad or the connection to the ecm or pcm to the instrument cluster circuit board needs a look. If you need schematics check out www.promanuals.net they specialize in Dodge Ram service manuals.
