under the car on the passenger side , midway, should be the fuel pump-sometimes if you bang on it with a wooden hammer it will start clicking-that could be your problem -many owners have replaced the old fuel pumps with electronic ones-the originals used contacts points that corrode-I'm not sure when RR stopped using the old types.

Losing prime to carb after warm up

Check the fuel pump pressure. IF this is heat related, it could also be a bad gasket causing a vacuum leak. The other thing could be the fuel line is getting too hot causing the gasoline to create a vapor lock.

Have 67 silver shadow stored for 7 years what should be done prior to attempting staring besides clean oil clean fuel

Put oil in the carbs. SU carbs correct? Those black things on the top of the carb towers unscrew. You add lightweight oil (Volvo recommends "sewing machine" oil, motor oil will do. This creates a slightly richer mixture when starting out, thus smoother low end acceleration. Invention of Sir Henry Royce himself.

I have a 1980 Shadow 2 which I have not run this year although turned it over regularly,I now want to start it but not getting any fuel thro I am told that there is a sensor that stops fuel flow to carbs...

It is more likely to have poor fuel in the carberettors. I would start by removing the spark plugs and give them a sniff. See if the fuel is potent. Note if the spark plugs are wet. If they are, replace the spark plugs with Champion plugs and see if it will fire. Let me know if you need anything else.

Difficulty starting after stopping for a short while

Without more input I'll give you two scenarios 1 the starter is showing signs of weakness and hen it gets hot it does not have the strength to spin the motor as it should. 2. The ignition timing needs adjusted, it may be advanced a bit and need retarding, especially with the low grades of fuel we are getting these days , you might try a higher grade of fuel or possibly an octane booster which you add when re-fueling.
Hope this is useful. Let me know please. gl...dc
