2004 jeep grand cherokee laredo . when engines warm, i step on the gas it chokes and stalls, but then it restarts again

When you step on the gas pedal the engine commands are to give more fuel,so obvoiusly you have a fuel pressure problem, from a neede fuel filter or even a new pump or both

What would cause my 98 durango to stall after being jumped? It runs for a little while. When you take the positive cable off it atill runs but when you step on the gas it starts to stall.

First, you apparently have a low battery, and it may not be charging correctly, so your alternator may not be re-charging your battery. Secondly, it sounds as if you don't have enough fuel flow to handle the request for higher engine power. This could come from a partially blocked fuel filter. I reasoned that your pump is picking up crud in your tank and your fuel filter is filtering it at low RPM, but allowing a small amount to get to your injectors. When you step on the gas, the additional fuel pressure pushes the crud in the lower part of the filter up against the outlet of the filter, thus blocking the filter totally. When you let it sit for a while, the crud settles out in the lower part of the filter, allowing some fuel to flow again.

Location of fuel filter, its boggs down when applying gas to speed up,was told fuel filter is clogged but i cant find it

Open the gas door and remove the gas cap. This will help to alleviate the pressure in the fuel line.
  • Step 2 Crawl under the Bravado and trace the fuel line from the fuel tank. The filter is an in-line filter and attached to the fuel line.
  • Step 3 Unsnap the fuel inlet line from the filter. The filter is equipped with a quick-connect fitting that can be unsnapped and pulled off the piping of the filter.
  • Step 4 Remove the outlet line off the piping of the filter. This line can removed the same as the inlet line.
  • Step 5 Unbolt the mounting bracket holding the filter in place with a socket wrench. The bracket is held in place by one bolt.
    Replacing the Fuel Filter
  • Step 1 Attach the new fuel filter to the mounting bracket and secure it to the frame. Tighten the bracket snugly with the socket wrench. Ensure the arrow on the filter is facing toward the front of the vehicle. The arrow indicates fuel flow direction.
  • Step 2 Snap the inlet line on the filter. Push the line on to the piping of the filter till it clicks in place.
  • Step 3 Connect the outlet line on the filter. This line will snap in place as well.
  • Step 4 Screw the gas cap back on to the fuel door. Close the gas door.
  • Step 5 Crank up the SUV and let it idle. Ensure there is no hesitation or stalling

could be a fuel pressure problem you need to find out when the fuel filter was changed last if a fuel filter doesn,t cure the problem then you need to get your fuel pressure checked

Cannot get 1987 chevy van 20 to keep running... stalls out

Best do a fuel pressure test. Should have chg. fuel filter from the get go. The only other filter is on the end of the fuel pump in tank. Bad gas and dirty gas will plug up fuel filter, hense burn pump up.

Engine stalls when stepping on gas pedal and will not idle on its own.

Have you checked the ignition timing? Maybe you need to turn the distributor to the left or right if you don't have the timing light gun
