Re: Car wont start: 1. Had it tested technician sad
not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can
be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it
can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or
no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition
coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.
confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.

car wont crank or car wont start? I would say your battery cables are bad,, acid gets in from battery and erodes internal cable parts... need a Meter to check it out.. put the meter on battery while someone tries to start it, if the voltage drops from 13.5 to 10 then it is trying to turn over, I always have the new starters tester before I leave a store, they are remanufactured in Malaysa and they use old parts in most of them..
next is jumper cable jump start to good running helper car battery.
that cuts cause in 1/2 , 15min works.
car starts, your battery is bad, or not charging, running, or is only discharged. (left head lights on)
wont crank. now?\\
hot wire the solenoid, for cutting possibles in 1/2 again.
what transmission? in car?
May be ab bad starter solenoid, or corroded/loose connection at starter, or (ground). Could also be a bad ignition switch. Start from the load; the starter. Test for 12V at starter, OK. Connect short wire from starter and touch sylenoid connection..
Problem with 1998 Honda Accord
2010 ford edge starts intermittently. Replaced
no crank is
1: a weak battery (try different good one, or jumper cable it)
2: bad cables or conn. from battery to starter.
3: bad starter.
4: bad key line (alarm cut, PRNDL switch open, bad ignition switch.
Five minutes with any voltmeter finds this easy.
or or hot wire the starter solenoid, to cut the problem in 1/2
this proves problem is in starter or battery
or in Key line, in 5 min flat, (a 100 year old test )
there are very simple tests for each of the 4. ask.
wont crank or wont start.?? no car starts , if it cant crank. (unless push starter (M/T magic) that is not a trans sensor its the PRN switch. ill answer for, wont CRANK ! it wont crank even with a good battery (charged) or jump started. 1: bad start 2: bad wires to same. so hot wire the starter small wire, the key start line is tiny. cranks. , starter good, no crank starter bad or cables bad. if it cranks hot wired, then the key line is dead. easy, huh?
What year, make model and engine size is this car, it sounds like a battery connection or bad starter, hold the key in the crank position and test for power at starter, you will be testing the small wire at starter. the big wire will have power at all times, the small wire should have power when the key is in the crank position,
If the battery terminals are clean and tight and battery tested good and there is power to small starter wire with the key in the crank position then starter is bad. try to tap on starter with key cranked and see if it spins, if it does then starter is bad. good day
sounds like the battery wire to the starter is possibly the culprit, it may have a bad spot in it not allowing enough voltage to the starter. also depending on the brand solenoid you purchased it is possible to get a bad one. i recommend borg warner electrical products. i hope this helps.
