Question about 2006 Nissan Titan

1 Answer

I have several codes in my Nissan Titan after installing aftermarket headers and catalytic converters. I have the following codes: P1148, P1168, P0130, P0150, P0153, P1564 and P1574. I also installed aftermarket gears in the rear diff. I've been told that P1564 and P1574 are due to the bigger gears installed in the diff. I also know that the first 5 codes listed are from both O2 sensors. My questions are, are these the sensors closest to the engine or farthest from the engine? If I replace both sensors, all but 2 codes should go away correct? Thank you.

Lambda probes are fitted between the exhaust manifold and the first box(cat)cannot miss them as no other part of the exhaust system has wires coming out of it.

Question about Cars & Trucks im getting codes p0300 p1168 p1051 when i took it to advanced. Just wanna know what they mean and what might need to be replaced under the hood. It's a 2004 Nissan titan, V8...

P1051 and P1168 are addressed in a TSB from Nissan, and involve issues with the air fuel sensor on the engine. This may also be triggering the P0300 code if the ECM is not programming fuel properly. I recommend checking with a Nissan dealer to see if the tech service bulletin will cover the issues you're having.

Catalytic converter is missing. The only thing in the housing is a metal ring. There are no signs of theft.

How to solve Diagnostic code p1148 nissansentra 04

Code 1148 and 1031 are both for the O2 sensor in front of the catalytic converter. The sensor would need to be tested with a scanner and a multi-meter.

P1148 P1031 P1279 P0420

Well looks like all 4 codes point to the O2 sensor bank one sensor one.
Code 1148 and 1279 are for problems with the performance of the sensor, code 1031 is for a problem with the heater in the sensor, and code 420 is for poor performance of the catalytic converter on bank one which could also be the sensor.
I would probably replace the sensor or switch it with the one on bank two and see if the codes change.

How hard is it to replace a catalytic converter on the 2004 titan

You will either need to buy the direct replacement which will cost a good amount of money (hundreds) or you can buy an aftermarket which you will have to cut out and weld in.
I recently bought an aftermarket catalytic converter for $100 and the muffler shop welded it (and a muffler) for $60.
