Intermittent air coming from vents switching from cold air to hot air like something is going out but been to the mechanic several times had ground wires checked, accumulator replaced, condenser replaced, complete compressor flush, new orifice tube, hose manifold replaced, new springlock seals, o-ring and a complete evacuation and recharge of a/c unit why does the air conditioning still go from blowing nice cold air for a few miles and then blow hot air continuously

OK, the vacuum motor behind the dash has an 'actuator' that flips the plastic door up or down depending on whether the system calls for cold or hot air. There's something wrong with this system.

All of the things you replaced have nothing to do with the actuator door position. All of the things you replaced have to do with how cold the evaporator gets behind the dashboard as well.

The problem is not that, it's the flow of cold air to the human driving the car that's the problem.

The evaporator could be ice cold, but if air doesn't flow across its fins and get to the vents, then the driver will never feel cold air.

Good luck on having the problem fixed properly.

The right side of vehical puts out cold air and the left hot air when I have the heater on

The heater vents have mechanical flaps that open and close when you switch the setting from hot to cold air. Sounds like one of those flaps might of jammed in the cold air or the cable that is attached to flap has come off.

1992. Why is hot air blowing through defroster vent?

If the air stream is not coming out the correct vent, then the switch/mechanism that diverts the air flow is at fault.

Sorry for your troubles ,
Temperature Hand in dash reading NORMAL ?
Does it Turn Blue to Red if so is do you feel friction or restraint like your turning something rather than freewheeling (smooth fast turning) or Digital and or does it show that it should be warm and not cold ?
Does the TEMP change at all(even the least little bit could narrow the results down) when knob is turned?
POSSIBLE - The Actuator/Motor that switches the VENTS very well could be BAD , Temperature Switch / Climate Control Switch (hot to cold could be broke at the base and only allowing the knob to turn and not in the switch ) Thermostat may be stuck open (keeping the engine running cool and smooth but no heat , maybe just a slight TEMP change when switched from Cold to Hot ). The A/C Switch is pushed in or turned on or broke and is stuck ON
FIXES - 1st- Check FUSES - If Temp HAND Reads Normal it not your THERMOSTAT. - Change the Control Switch / Temp switch - Check A/C Button/Knob . AUTOZONE is my place of business they PRICE MATCH AS WELL!
Hope this Helps , Flaming Ratchets Auto Repair

My '99 Crown Victoria, for a couple of years now, intermittently blows the air conditioner air out the defrost openings or sometimes the floor vents. It used to do it only when going up inclines. Now...

It sounds like vacuum is not getting to the vent, heat and A/C controls. Find the vacuum can. It may be under the hood on one of the inner fenders. The "one-way" check valve is usually located in the line and close to the can, make sure it works properly. The valve could be the very thing that's causing the problem. Trace the lines back to the vacuum block at the intake manifold or fire-wall, and also back to where the line goes thru the fire-wall. Check the can for leaks or obvious holes. They used to be just a plain metal can, but it could be a plastic ball. Check the lines as you go, for breaks and rub-thru's. Move the controls thru all settings and listen for vent door movement. Worst case is a bad vacuum motor or air flow position selector switch. If you have been driving around with the Temperature knob or control set at the same spot for months, move it from fully cold to fully hot several times and wait for the air temperature to change each time. This will help reset the blend door and vacuum control system. Hope this helps... Let me know what you find.

Hi. Have your car aircon evaporator cleaned. Check also the drain hose. All water should go out of the car through the drain hose. There might be something clogging up the hose that is why water will run out the floor and that causes also the aircon to work intermittently.

Have a good one!

Cabin Heat is Intermittent / Fluctuates / Cycles

You may have air trapped in the lines to or from the heater core.
If you (still) have a real radiator cap on the radiator, remove it with a cold engine, start and run the engine allowing it to warm up while watching the water/coolant level. Make sure the heater control is set to its highest heat setting while doing this. If it is trapped air, you may see it 'belch' after the engine is warm and the engine thermostat is open. Refill as needed if this is the case.
It's more difficult without direct radiator access and may require several cycles of hot/cold to allow refilling through the overflow.

This car has the automatic temperature control system

The hot/cold switch is probably bad.you have a blend door box that opens to let the cold air in and closes to let the hot air in.From what you are saying this part is no responding to the switch movement.Make sure power is at the switch and power should go through the switch when put on cold air this moves the blend door. Some times the blend door goes bad and has to be replaced its under the dash on the right side.

Sounds like a bad heater control unit, or bad control module. You are bypassing the switch when you jump the relays, so usaully the switching mechanism is suspect.
