Question about 2002 Pontiac Bonneville

Open Question

My 2002 Bonneville is leaking coolant from a pipe above the water pump. The pipe seems to be coming out of the engine, and I think the pipe is going to the heater. The leak is coming right out of the engine side.

SOURCE: have an antifreeze leak

Look at front of engine where all the pulleys are, small pulley with 4 bolts attaching it to water pump. Easiest way to tell is you should see heater hoses going into/attached it. Have to remove belt etc. to get at it.

SOURCE: Pontiac Bonneville with water leaking into trunk

same problem happened to my 2005 bonneville. inside the trunk and behind the carpet covering the wheel wells there are two water drain tubes. these tubes run down the inside of the "c" pillar and drain the water from the sunroof. they make a 90 degree bend at the bottom back of the wheel well(inside the trunk) and fit inside a round rubber tube/grommet at both of the rear wheel wells that lets the water drain outside.either the plastic 90 degree tube has come out of the rubber tube/grommet or the drain tube could be plugged up with debris. also make sure the two round rubber tube/grommets are installed correctly and seal the hole going through the trunk to the outside of each wheel well. this is of course only for those bonnevilles that have a factory sun/moon roof.

How do I replace heater hose fitting elbow

Tools: 10 mm 13,mm,15,mm sockets and a straight screwdriver if you need to pry, a shop light, you will need to get the air out running a while while you add coolant back to level. It's usually the top elbows that leak, if its the 3800 drain coolant into something, go to AutoZone tell them u need the elbows for the 3800, remove your coolant tank, and your alternator, pretty simple, loosen alternator, then slide belt off, then move alternator out of your way, remove the 3 bolts, pull loose, place in new parts, press back in place, then tighten everything back. Discard your bad elbows with bad seals. Check for leaks, if all good, your done.

2002 bonneville coolant leak

check water pump hose and the pump. a clogged thermostat can cause pressure build up and bust hoses. and of course take radiator out and check for lower hoses and crackes. if no luck, put water in radiator and run car and check for leaks. small cracks in aluminum are hard to see but expands when radiator gets hot.

On my 2002 pontiac bonneville i have a water leak going into the tail light?

Sounds like the tail light seal is bad. You can try re-gluing it, or just buy a new set of lights off of ebay fairly inexpensively.

1999 Pontiac Bonneville-My fans don't work, lose coolant very fast not sure where it's going? Hasn't overheated, but I don't drive far. Planning to take 1500 mile trip at end of month?, no...

I assume it's the 3.8 V6? They are notorious for intake gasket problems. The fan problem could be a few things, fuse, relay, ECT (electronic coolant temp sensor), ECM, Do the fans come on when you run the A/C? Hope this gives you some ideas. Let me know a little more and I'll try to help. TJ

When i checked oil it looked milky

water or coolant is getting in oil. could be a bad head gasket. If the coolant level continues to drop, but there are no signs of coolant leaks on the ground or from the exhaust pipe, there is a good chance that coolant is entering crankcase and mixing in with the oil. check head gasket and manifold gasket for leaks.

I have a little water leek from a small pipe under where the heater hose pipes meet the top of the engine could you tell me what it is it only leaks when the engine is cold my car is a 2001 pontiac...

it's a thermostat bi-pass and not uncommon to rust especially if the anti freeze coolant has not been changed on time. some can be changed some are part of the water pump, if you do not have a repair manual go to your local library and see if they do. Other wise the book stores especially used one, all carry them. The one I like,is called auto repair for dummies, they have pictures as well as an easy to read format.
