Question about Chevrolet Chevy

Hey guy's I have a 2000 Chevy Cavalier 2.2 with the driver's side head light dim even with the brights on. I tryed to ground a wire from the neg side of the battery to the black wire on the harnass of the bulb. It did get brighter but when the lights were turned off the lights stayed on. Also when you start the car and put it in gear I here a clicking sound and wrench light will come on. No codes came up at Auto Zone. Im going crazyy! lol

Have you checked all the headlight fuses? If you blow a fuse on this model the light will glow dim because it will backfeed from the other side.

I have a 1997 chevy malibu and the driver sid light high and low beems are dim and i replaced the bulbs amd the hedlight fixtur its self its as bright as a flashlight befor it bows

It could be a bad ground. Try using a jumper wire directly to the ground side wire with the light plugged into the bulb. If ground is bad bulb will get brighter when you add your ground wire.

Running lights don't come on on either side and when I turn the head lights on both come on but the drivers side one is very dim same goes for when I turn on the brights

Usually this problem has to do with the ground wire or wires on the vehicle and/or the lights themselves.
Back in the 80's car makers went to a separate ground wire for all things electric because of the amount of plastic or fibreglas parts on the car.
Due to rust ( in some areas) or a car wreck, you may have a ground wire that is broken or not making contact.
Many of these wires are impossible to find, as they are hidden behind and inside different areas of the car.
A good mechanic should be able to run some "jumper" ground wires and fix your problem.
Be blessed.

3 head lights dim 1normal on dim or bright

I would say you have a bad ground wire. Im not sure about this car but most have a black ground wire fasten to the top of the fender or inside of the inner finder near the battery, Remove the wire and clean the metal and the wire connector with a wire brush, making sure the metal is shiny.
tighten securely and check your lights. Be sure you dont have a black wire going to each light, if so check each one.
I hope these suggestions help you find your problem.

Trying to fix the wiring on headlight

try checking the ground wire on the frame next to the head light if you have a volt meter measure voltage on the hot side, if there is 12 volts then measure it on the ground side, is it lower than 12 volts? if it is you have bad ground strap follow the wire it will be near the radiator core support and sand it off if that does not help then it's in the light switch.

My driver side light are dim wile my pass light is fine

Hi I have had all kinds of problems w/ cav and sunfire front head lamps (dim/bright etc) The forward lamp harness (wich is the harness that controls the headlamps, markers, and fogs if avail, has many factory splices that usuall contain moisture and or,if all these splices are ok your corrosion poroblem is in the same harness where it goes under the battery tray.My best sugestion is to go to chevy and get the forwaed lamp harness assy. it will save you many hours of hair pulling.if this is not an option,go under the car and find the (large) harness going up the drivers side by the battery and remove the black plastic.look for wet condition and or green corrosion on the purple or green wire// repair as ness. Gooid luck thyanks RAY.
