Question about 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

1 Answer

Spark plugs I was going to replace my plugs in a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD 6 litre when I noticed a metal housing (maybe some kind of heat sheild) around the area where the plugs would enter the block. The wires are hard to release from this sheild. does the sheild come off with the wires or do they stay in place. I didnt want to tug real hard on the wires not knowing what may happen. Could you answer my problem and maybe a tip on how to remove? Thanks, Craig

The heat shields are attached to head under spark plug. Need to turn boot on wire all around & then wiggle back & forth & pull upward.

How do you fix a knox sensor on a 2003 chevy silverado HD 2500 6.0 litre

It has two of them. Sorry to say that they are under the intake manifold and you must remove the intake manifold to gain access to them.

I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado. Upon acceleration there is a rattling sound coming from the engine on the passenger side. it also happen when rolling in reverse and the brakes is applied.

it may just be the heat shield on the muffler, they are held on with tack welds that break easily. when the truck is cool crawl under it and look around the muffler and catalytic converters for a loose heat sheild.

I cannot get my exhaust leak to fix on my 1999 chevy silverado its a ticking and believe it at or near the left manifold i have replaced all gaskets and it still does it

Try inspecting the manifold.Look for grey areas mainly around the front two cylinders. If you have the tin heat sheilds you can pry them open with a screwdriver to get a look inside.Have has cracked ex manifolds on the dr side on three different trucks from 1992-2004 1500-3500.
