Hi!!

Add a quart of Rislone transmission stop slip to the tranny, it works pretty good and costs less than $15 at AutoZone.

You'll be surprised how well it works.

Don't forget to rate this post. Good Luck!!.

You may need transmission serviced. Goto Midas, I believe it's free to check vechicle on OBD Scanner. If they find a problem they'll let you know exactly what codes they get. Either you can have someone you know fix or they can fix.

It sounds like you just need to service your transmission and request a transmission additive such as Trans X to be added to the transmission since there are high miles and low maintenance. This may help to prolong the life of your transmission.

Transmission stays in overdrive at stop. have to

The torque converter lock up solonoid is bad. This is an internal transmission part that requires partial transmission disassembly. Most times its cheaper to put a good used transmission in.

My trasmission do not shift properly, my mechanic say the TPS sensor is not working, the TPS could be the reazon?

Yes it is possible for that to be the problem, The transmission needs to know how hard or gently that you are driving the vehicle to know when to shift to another gear, this used to be accomplished by a cable (kick down) from the throttle body or carbuerator to the tranmssion but that job has been repalced by the TPS sensor. Think of when you are on the highway and you have been waitng to pass that slow car for a while you finally get the opportunity so you gun the engine as you change lanes to pass, as you gun the engine the transmission also kicks down into a lower gear to give you more power to complete the pass. Hope this helps.

Transmission slams into drive after backing out of drive. also, has on several occasions, slipped when shifting and engine revved.

a sign of a worn transmission, slipping and shifting hard and not engaging in gears properly. you can try to flush your transmission out and refill with new fluid, that may help some. transmission on those car should be service every 75k. on average normal driving. if plan to replace the transmission, get it from a junk yard, its lots cheaper than getting it rebuilt.

200 ford explorer will not shift into overdrive,

My Mom had the same problem, and ended up needing her transmission totally rebuilt. Later she was told that when Fords do this they usually just need the transmission flushed and all the filters replaced which is a way cheaper alternative and a good thing to try before you shell out 2k for a total rebuild !!!

Transmission trouble

Transmission model is a 4R70W,totally electronic,no vacuum to the trans.A common failure on that transmission is the 1-2 accumulator springs...they break, causing a harsh 1-2 upshift. An accumulator is a mechanical/hydraulic assembly also called an accumulator piston. It is made from steel with rubber lip seals bonded to the steel. The accumulator piston takes a certain portion of the hydraiulic fluid produced when the 1-2 upshift happens, and strokes up and down with springs providing resistance. It acts as a hydraulic shock absorber for the 1-2 upshift, providing cushion. When the springs break,it no longer provides shock absorption, hence the harsh upshift. It is located just inside the trans pan,on the passenger side front of the case.It is retained in the case with a cover and a round snap ring about 2" in diameter.A new piston and springs can be purchased from a transmission repair shop,or better yet, have them check the assembly for broken springs.Good luck
