Question about 1991 Lexus LS 400
I think this is that silly security system a lot of cars have now. You have to open the driver's door with the key, or else it goes bananas.
I would lock all the doors, remove the battery terminal, wait at least 5 minutes, and then try unlocking the driver's door again.
(of course if there is something wrong with the driver's door lock, then fix that first.)
If the alarm system is still not working right, I would just hot wire a momentary push button to the starter solenoid and leave it at that.
I hate it when they put complex electrical devices like a security system in a car that sits outside in the cold, heat, rain, etc.
They make cars worse and worse all the time.
