Go to Autozone or Oreillys for a free scan. The problem codes will repeat unless fixed. Once you have it scanned you will know more.

Sometimes when you delay fixing it you will get additional readings. These can be true or false depending on the first fault.
For instance, if a plug is not firing the system will identify the cylinder. Wait too long and you will get an additional "rich bank 1 or 2" and then problems with O2 sensors and Catalytic Converter errors.

Sometimes the additional errors will correct, but some will require new parts to fix because you waited too long.

You would need to get the engine computer scanned for trouble codes to proceed. As long as the check engine light is on the cruise light may stay too.

My 04 Jeep Liberty has a 135000 and has been running great. No repairs so far. Problem is: driving home yesterday I noticed a miss during accelaration. The engine light started blinking and then went...

First Joe check all your fuses, Second if you can get a code check some parts stores like O'reilly's may do it for free. Check your spark plugs may be time for a tune up. Check for broken vaccum hoses in the engine and vaccum lines.

Copy and Paste this webpage has lots of helpful info on this problem good luck Joe!

O/d light and check engine light blinking

You can reset these codes by disconnecting the negative side of your battery, has to be the negative side, for 5 minutes and then try it. If the light comes back then you may have a problem.

Sounds like some of your internal wiring might be burning up. Check your Fuses too,

You can't drive around like this too long; take it to a garage to get it repaired now rather then later.

I hope this helps,
