Have you checked the fuse for the tail lights which should be located on the side of the dash behind an access panel on either the drivers side or passengers side. If you open the door you should see the panel.

How can I remove tail light lens?

David, Taillight bulb replacement: this is an involved procedure that you will probably want to let your dealer do. I do NOT have the steps listed here but here is a tool that you will find very helpful if you decide to do it yourself:
  • "A # 12 Snap On nut driver shortened about an inch will get the hard to reach nut. Snap On is the only one I found that was hollow & would slide over the 4" stud." quote from TBN member
  • Other tools may be found that will work.
remove the nuts that hold the tail lamp in place and gently pull from bracket.

My 2003 Pontiac Vibe tail lights do not work. The brake lights work. I checked the tail fuse. Turn signals work also. Why no tail lights?

Your turn signal lights and brake lights are the same lights . Question : do the front parking lights work ? The front and rear running lights or parking lights are all on the same circuit and fuse . If the front lights work , and the rear lights don't , make sure the bulbs are good first . If OK , I would suspect the problem is either a bad ground in the rear taillight wiring harness or a bad connection in the rear taillight connector Itself .

How do you access the tail lights on a 2003 Honda CRV?

Open the back door, observe the tail light lenses if no screws on the outside. Then there must be an access panel or fasteners on the inside possibly hidden by the trim or carpet. You also need to get the right bulb for your make and model. you can find this in your owners manual. It should also tell u how to replace it.

How to change a tail light bulb in a honda element

Open the hatch and the tailgate.

Remove the two mounting screws with a Phillips-head screwdriver, and remove the taillight assembly from the body by pulling it back.

Determine which of the three bulbs is burned out: brake/taillight, turn signal light or backup light. (I assume you’ve already determined this)

Remove the socket by turning it one-quarter turn counterclockwise.

Pull the bulb straight out of its socket.

Push the new bulb straight into the socket until it bottoms.

Reinstall the socket into the light assembly by turning it clockwise until it locks.

Test the lights to make sure the new bulb is working.

When reinstalling the taillight assembly, first place the two pins in the holes in place. Tighten the two mounting bolts.

Hope this is helpful to you.

Taillights wont work

Replace the "looks fine" bulbs first (cheap fix), then replace the fuses (also cheap fix), if that doesn't fix the problem it could be wiring (may NOT be cheap fix!)....

Tail light out

Open the rear hatch. There are two screws towards the inside. Unscrew these and remove the housing.Turn the bulb holder 1/8 turn counterclockwise and pull out. Push in on the bulb and turn it counterclockwise, then pull the bulb out of the holder. Replacement is exact reverse of removal.

Only headlights work, 91 4dr EX

ok supaxang, could this solution be as simple as replace the 2 rear bulbs? The brake light and tail light (parking light) are the same bulb, 2 filaments, one for brakes, one for tail lights. If the the tail light filament burns out, the brake light will continue to work ok. It is quite possible that both tail lights burned out, and the brake light filaments are good and still working. Replace w/ bulb #2057. Let me know if this fixes it, if not, I'll keep working on it.
