Without diagnosing this problem i can only take a good guess, the po741 on this ford is related to the tcc, this is the torque converter clutch, the converter clutch seliniod may be bad, you will need to test it and omh it and check for shorts or open circuit in the seliniod.

With the 6 speed transmission with the 5.4L engine this TSB applies,

TSB 09-11-5
ISSUE: Some 2009 F-150 vehicles equipped with 5.4L 3V engine and equipped with a 6R80 automatic transmission may exhibit the following symptoms during warm-up: a harsh 1-2 upshift, harsh 2-1 downshift while coasting 15 MPH (24 Km/h). A harsh downshift into 4th gear at highway speeds 45-70 MPH (72-113 Km/h) may also be experienced. Some vehicles may have a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0741 torque converter performance code present or stored.

If you have the 4.6L with the 6 Speed The Transmission reprogram will cure exactly the same issues but the info is located under TSB 09-15-4

The TSB has all the information, all it requires is them to Hook up their scan tool and reprogram the TCM. Make sure they look at the TSB because it does require them to clear the transmission adaptive learn strategy and then perform the adaptive shift strategy learn during the roadtest.

Good Luck.

You can clear the codes with an OBD2 scan-tool. Have you fixed the problem already? If not those codes can tell you which cylinder the misfire is affecting.

P0741 torque converter stuck off code - 2004 Toyota corolla

P0741 deals with internal transmission torque converter slip. A proper scan tool that is capable of reading the sensor's data inside the transmission would show the slipping torque converter and the fluid temperature.
It is critical to know exactly what conditions are present when the code stores. If the codes were not erased, they could be old codes in it's history.

Go back to the transmission shop or where you had the work done on replacing the TCC solenoid and have them read and clear the codes history. As mentioned, they could be old codes that is being read prior to your repairs.
Thank you for using Fixya and good luck, Have a shop verify line pressure, and provided no valves in the TCC hydraulic circuit are worn, replace the torque converter. Also, Lubegard Shudder Fix will at least fix this for awhile. Or try a transmission flush by a shop that uses BG brand products.

MY O/D LIGHT KEEP COMING ON ON THE DASHBOARD FOLLOWED BY A SHIFT IN GEARS. WHAT DOES THE CODE P0741 MEAN AND HOW CAN IT BE FIXED?

P0741 - Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance or Stuck Off.

Ok this is how I see it... you need to rebuild the tranny and sell it becuase these suvs have a bad rep for tranny failures, Its so common on explorers in the late and early 90's models.

P0733 Gear 3 Incorrect ratio
P0741 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance or Stuck Off
Based on the experience i have with these codes at the Ford dealer I work at u are going to most likely need a transmission overhaul, it is slipping and the torque converter clutch is defective.
