My transit 2.4 rwd high whistle on accelerating changed turbo twicce now and still no different

could be from a boosted air leak
check intercooler for leaks, loose hose connections , burst hoses
on a heavy engine the turbo whistle is from the tips of the turbine wheel breaking the sound barrier ( yes they spin at up to 20,000 rpms the same as yours but your turbine wheel is so much smaller in diameter that even though the rpms are the same the tip speed is less
could be the boost control releasing the excess pressure as well from a problem setting or unit

1992 Peterbilt 379 feels sluggish pulling load up hill and is blowing black smoke

have a turbo boost pressure test done under load on a chassis dyno
under load the boost should be right up
check for leaks in the intercooler hose fittings or cracks in the intercooler
black smoke under load indicates a faulty turbo or turbo air leaks.

Is it ok for my boost gauge to run a 3 to5 goin down the highway 05 impala ss

boost pressure is related to exhaust temperature . so if you are not under load then the accelerator position will only allow the fuel that is required and so the boost will be reacting accordingly. If you suddenly accelerate and the boost goes up then the turbo is doing the job. If it stays the same then look for boost leaks in hoses and air cooler. waste gate settings or faulty turbo.

Whistling when accelerating outlander turbo diesel

turbo whistle is common as it comes from the tips of the compressor wheel passing through the sound barrier and the turbulence occurs. IN the older trucks you would the turbo whistle as the engine reached full RPM just before a gear change. In smaller engine it is not do noticeable as there is an excess of air pressure that keeps the compressor wheel at a lower rpm and the pressure is dumped out. Turbo compressors reach revolutions in excess of 120.000 rpm under full load If it has just started to make the noise then check the intercooler system for leaks--loose clamps--- splits - Have the turbo compressor checked for damaged fins from the ingress of fine dirt from a bad air filter---check the air filter is not blocked as the turbo speed may result from running in a partial vacuum ( no load on the compressor wheel)

Vw passat 2006 whistle sound after changing turbo

you must have a air leak between turbo and air intake somewhere so run engine and have a good look but if the old turbo was worn out then this is why it sounds different as its quite normal for these vehicles to sound a bit potent to say the least

Nissan Navara STR 2006 d22 3lt turbo. Turbo is whistling very

Remember, what is heard as turbocharger noise may not be caused by a noisy turbocharger. Before replacing a turbocharger perform the following diagnosis.
A. If a loud whine or whistle is heard during acceleration and increases or decreases with rpm and load. This condition is most often the result of a loose clamp/hose at the turbocharger compressor outlet, charge air cooler inlet, outlet or at the intake manifold.

1. With the engine running at idle and the transmission in Park or Neutral with the parking brake set, feel for boost air escaping at each connection between the turbocharger compressor outlet and intake manifold. For limited access areas, spray soapy water on those connectors and look for bubbles.

2. Check the exhaust manifold and exhaust system for leaks.

I hope this helped.

Thank you,
Norse

Audi a3 tdi 140 turbo sounds like its whistling for england why?

Turbo vehicles often sound like they are whistling when the turbo spools up because it is sucking in air at a high rate and it makes a bit of a whistling sound. Generally not a problem unless it is a different whistling that you are referring to.

Whistleing sound on golf gt tdi

It's probably the turbo you're hearing. They spin very fast and make a noise like that. Ever hear an 18-wheeler go by you and accelerate and they make that high-pitched whistle? That's the turbo spooling up. Now, if it sounds like a dentist's drill, that's usually a sign that the turbo is failing, but I'd bet that since your car is under four years old, as long as you've kept up on the maintenance, it's the normal turbo spool.

Dodge ram 3500 clown whistle

sounds like you have a turbo with a bad bearing.
pull of the turbo and rotate it by hand to see if it is hanging up.
Most turbos start to make a different noise when they start to go.
Sometimes dirt can bypass the air filter if is not changed on a regular basis and can cause the turbo to fail or become dirty enough to cause it to spin slower, (the dirt prevents the exhaust to spin the turbo at the right speed and the air passing the fins can whistle), it will cause bearing failure after a while. Also if you have too much soot in your exhaust from too much oil, the exhaust side of the turbo can become too dirty to operate properly
