91 pontiac grand prix se key stuck in ignition

91 Grand Prix SE: If you can turn car off with the key, but can't get the key out - first thing you should check is to see if the button on the shifter is fully releasing (the button on the shift handle you have to push to shift out of Park).

Do I have to remove the gas tank to inspect/change the fuel pump on a 1991 pontiac grand prix?

Unfortunately, yes. It's a pain. I own a 1991 Pontiac grand prix SE 3.1L.

My fuel pump problem started when I ran out of gas (gas gauge was offset) Of course it shuts off w/o gas but it will more likely kill your fuel pump and clog the $#!t out of your filter.

If it makes a buzzing sound under the vehicle w/o the engine running, near the trunk area, replace it along with the filter.

What does the fuel pump access look like in the trunk of a 1995 pontiac grand prix

There is no fuel pump access in the trunk on the 1995 model. You have to remove the gas tank to change the pump.

On my 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix SE the fuel pump is not turning on. The fuel gage does NOT move at all when the key is turned to the run position as it normally would. Is this the sign of a faulty fuel...

Check the ground for the sending unit, should be attached to the frame by the side of the tank. If that doesn't get it, remove tank and sending unit. Check resistance from top to bottom of float travel, it should go from 0-90 smoothly. Dropping the tank is a headache. On some models there is a fuel tank access panel for the fuel pump in the trunk under the carpet. If you need further assistance please let me know. Thanks, MIDwest-tek.

On a 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix, is there an access panel in the trunk allowing me to replace the fuel pump without dropping the tank?

It's been a while since I worked on a 92 Grand Prix but there is a plate that you need to remove to get at the fuel pump. It is located in the trunk floor. I believe you have to remove the spare tire to gain access to the plate. This action will reveal the pump & just remove the retaining bolts. Good luck!
