I have a Series 2 commodore SSV Ute, I'm not sure about the other gears but in first gear when I reach 5500 RPM the engine cuts out. That's the only way to describe it. It's like turning the motor off

most likely an rpm limiter sensor that prevents you from blowing the motor
moving from 1st to 2nd or any gear should be done at no more than 4000 rpms as the engine is outside the torque range and is just a waste of fuel

Wont start

Do you mean the starter motor runs but the engine will not crank? If so the problem is at you starter there is a small gear that makes the conection between the starter motor and the engine. Some times you can tap the starter with a hammer while someone try's to start it and it will loosen the gear and start. if this works change the starter.

Headlight motor will not stop running

Did you also change the gear(s)? If you didn't that is the problem. However if you did then you need to manually adjust the closing of the head light assembly by turning the adjustment knob on the botton of the mmotor. This should solve your problem.

Changed the flywheel and now it wont turn over feels like the pistons in the engine one is stuck

loosen the bell housing bolts and move the transmission back 3/4" and see if the motor turns, if so you need to remove the transmission and replace the pump gears, the problem is most likley the torque converter came out of the pump gears and is jamming the pump, if so the ears on the gear is most likely cracked, if you don't run the motor you may be able to save the pump.

96 inf. j30 wiper motor runs wipers dont move

The wiper linkage is either broken or has fallen off the motor, or the internal gears of the wiper motor are bad. If you can see the linkage and it is indeed still connected to the motor, you will likely need to change the entire motor because the gears can't be purchased seperately.

Window will not roll up or down . trunk will not shut completely

Two problems are simular but not related. The power window the door panel can be removed, theres screws behind the door opener handle. and on the bottm edge of the panel , under plugs in the ends on the door closer armrest handle. once their all removed the panel needs to be lifted up and off its hooks theres wires connected to the switches in the panel and they can be picked unlocked and unplugged, Once the wires are off the motor is in plain veiw and it can be unbolted with 3 10MM headed screws with it off reconnect the switch and turn on the car and work the window with the swich if the gear turns good and you can't hold it back the window regulater has come off the window or it's broken the gear drive in the motor has a clutch and it can fail too. Removing the screw that holds the gear into the motor the gear can be lifted out. the clutch has three plastic roolers and they can break and or change to mush. They can be bought at an auto parts store. A new motor sometimes doesn't come with the clutch and the gear as your suposed to move them to the new motor. So if you end up needing a new gear make sure the new motor has all the parts that you need.
