Miss fire #6 cyl 2000 dodge 3500 van 5.9 egine

100 PSI is way to low, I think you have a burnt valve. Check the cylinder compression on all cylinders, no cylinder should be 5% lower than the highest cylinder pressure measured or the engine will run rough or misfire.

How to replace a 1989 Dodge Ram d100 distributor cap and rotor

Label or mark the wires before removing the cap, this is very important. Make sure the new cap goes on just like the old cap came off. The rotor is under the cap and should slide off by pulling up on it again make sure the rotor goes on the same. The rotor should be able to be put on only 1 way but make certain. Good luck.

I have 2000 ram 1500 van, had the idler pully seize and made the serpentine heat up and fall off. drove the van about 5 minutes and turned it off. Got parts to to repair the problem, when I went to start...

Try disconnecting the battery

You do know that the rotor, cap, cam
sensor etc wasn't the way to start a
diagnostic process?

Did it go into Fail Safe from over heating?

P1281 on a 2000 dodge 3500 van I have replaced the fuel pump crank sensor plugs wires cap rotor running out of $$$$ fast

My resources say P1281 is engine is cold too long. That would lead me to possibilty of faulty thermostat, or something else in cooling system. What exactly are you getting for symptoms? No start, poor starting, poor running, ?

We replaced the distributor cap and rotor on our Dodge Ram Van 1500, but one wire popped off as we were working and we aren't sure they are in the right order anymore. How do we find a diagram to help us...

the firing order is usually stamped on the engine itself. Take off the distributer cap and turn the ignition to see which direction the rotor is turning.

The distributer cap has the number 1 plug marked . After finding the firing order, place the wires 1 where the cap is marked then in the direction the rotor is turning (ie:clockwise or couterclockwise). Keep looking . Most every motor I have seen has the firing order maked right on the engine.Or the owners manual ?

Our 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 van won't start arfter it has sat over night and it has rained. It takes an hour of trying to start it before it will fire up again. Any theories or solutions?

I've got a 95 Dodge 1500 Ram pickup. It has the same problem. I've got a 5.9 engine in it and the distributer is located right under the seam where the hood closes against the cowl panel. I suspect moisture is somehow working it's way into the distributer cap. Try replacing the distributer cap & rotor. If at night when you open the hood with engine running and don't see a "Light Show" from the wires I would spray the ends going in the cap with WD 40. If you do see a "Light Show" replace the wires, and then spray the ends with WD 40. It displaces water and moisture. This should cure your problem.

Need a distributor wiring diagram for a 1989 dodge 150 van 3.9L

The firing order is 1-6-5-4-3-2 in a clockwise direction. Number 1 should be marked on the cap. 1 3 5 are on the driver side, 2 4 6 on the passenger side. I hope this helps.
