code is evap system flow during non-purge
check the hoses for holes or broken disconnected hoses also check the fuel cap emissions diagram under the hood will give u the location of the evep purge solenoid if all checks ok then replace the soienoid and clear the codes

as you face the engine the thermostat bell is on the right (drivers side) Follow the radiatoe hose. Remove the two bolts and raise the bell still attatched to the hose. the thermostat is there with the rubber seal. You can gently pry the thermostat out with a screwdriver or something similar. Put in new thermostat be sure it is the same as the old one, and then replace or change the seal (be sure it is the smae size and thickness as the old one as I got the wrong size from Napa) Then replace the bell, and tighten, but not over tighten. sounds like you have a vacuum leak, check all the vacuum hoses and replace any broken or kinked ones, also check around the intake manifold gasket for leaks. any air leaks after the air flow meter creates 'un-metered' air which inturn will make the car run rough and stall, hope this helps

the egr value tubing also gets corroded with carbon. take tube off and use a wire brush to clean tubing. i talked with a mechanic and he said he has never seen an egr valve fail. most if not all egr problems are due to carbon build up in the egr tube. clean egr tube interior.

what codes are you getting? check all spark plug wires as a start. pull one of the spark plug wires off while car is running. if you notice an improvement in idleling then it may be a coil pack. each spark plug has a coil pack if only one goes out it will be a rough running car. i had to replace 2. sometimes they just go out without warning. the other thing would be to change the spark plugs and wires. if you have over 75,000 miles on the car then i would replace. todays spark plugs are good up to and over 50,000 miles. simple fix. the only hard part is the 3 plugs on the firewall. little room to get them but it will take about 1-2 hours just for those back 3 plugs unless you have the right tools. then if all this fails i would check the egr sensor......oh even easier first check all your vacuum hoses it only takes 1 to screw up your performance. vacuum hose is a cheap fix. good luck and email me back if i helped or not. i like trouble shooting. my grand prix purrs like a kitten most of the time..
