1995 3.3L voyager stalls when downshifting

My 1995 3.3L voyager accelerates fine but stalls when the automatic transmission appears to begin to downshift. Any ideas? The engine has also started to sound sickly when idling--the two symptoms have developed concurrently; no coincidence, I'm sure.

I could be wrong here but sounds like the toque converter when locked up don't want to let go when you hit the brake or downshift.it can be a solenoid or a control valve sticking.you can either try changing filter and fluid are try adding some lucas trans oil to it at the local auto store.

Where is the passing gear on a 2003 Mitsubishi Diamante

'Passing gear' is a term that means the transmission is down-shifted to a lower gear (e.g., from 5th gear to 4th gear) for improved acceleration to pass another vehicle. There is no physical component called a passing gear in the transmission.
To engage the 'passing gear' with an automatic transmission should require nothing more than pressing the accelerator pedal down firmly. The transmission should downshift automatically to the next lower gear (sometimes it will downshift two gear ratios, depending on your speed and how far you depress the accelerator pedal).

Where is 1994 Sportvan downshift relay location

There's no such thing as a downshift relay.Trans downshift is cable actuated.Go to the end of cable at the carb/throttle body, open the throttle fully by hand and depress the black button in the cable connection block, the cable housing will pop and when your driving will automatically reset to where it needs to be.Your done.

My 1998 voyager has a lot of trouble downshifting from third, lots of thumping and shaking, also stalling

Hope you didn't do permanent damage. When was the Transmission last serviced? Fluid flushed and filter replacement? I would do that and see how it is. Most of the time with Trannys that is the trouble. Do those to things and watch the difference.

Transmission shifts down abruptly when accelerating.

It most likely is a transmission issue, a internal issue inside the transmission.

When the automatic transmission downshifts at

Hi, Honestly i would start with the basics first and change the filter and fluid, if you are not getting a check engine light with any transmission codes a filter change should fix the problem. but remember always use atf +4, do not use any transmission fluid but this.

No tranni downshift upon heavy accel

Hi, two possible issues here. the first could be a malfunctioning shift solenoid. this can affect the shifting operation. the next issue could be the transmission control model(TCM). if this fails, you will experience abnormal shifting during up and downshifting. I would check these areas as well as the fluid level as well. Some transmissions are sealed and you cant check the fluid level. if you have a transmission dip stick visible, please check the fluid level before you check the other areas.

please rate and god bless.
