There is a radiator fan control sensor under right side of radiator and there is a engine oil temperature switch right rear of engine compartment. the oil temp switch closed above 214-228 degrees F looks like it will runs the a/c side fan with a/c condensor and the radiator runs the other fan if you can't get both to work check the 3 relays and fuses under hood #47 and #50 and under dash #15 #20 #3 they all run you fans and controls boxes.

The thermostat on the radiator opens by heat automatically. The fan switch is run by the Engine temp Sensor and the ECM. If your fan is not running it is most likely a problem with the fan or the Temp sensor, I would look at the fan first.

My 1995 park ave. runs and idles fine from 10-25 min. then dies and wont start until its totally cooled off

I can sure help you on this one!
Almost every car today that is on roads in America have a small ( size of your finger) sensor that screws into the block near the thermostat, and which sensor tells the computer what the engine temperature is. These are made cheaply and go bad. I have changed 4 of them on a variety of cars in the last 2 years. This is NOT the sensor that turns on the electric fan. Parts houses here say the different cars even use the same sensor!
Be blessed.

Some cars have a thermostat that tells the fans when the water temp reaches a certain temp then the fans start. Or the relay that starts them could be bad. You may find the relay and switch it with another like it and see if that works.

Runs rich and black smokes!! I know three probable causes i think. My first guess is thermostat, second coolant temp. sensor, third guess is the fuel rail in intake plenum anyone have any ideas.?

there is a temp. sensor that tell the computer it is cold so it will run rich to warm up.
when it get to warm temp it should change to tell computer it is warm .
so I would look for the temp sensor in the water jacket somewhere.
might be more then 1 of them. other one's are for fan switches. and a/c control.
ask local auto parts store

What will cause temperature gauge to show 3/4 heat range and car is not running hot on a 1995 Maxima. Fans are working but but not running hot.

It could be a bad connection on the sending unit it will have a single wire and be located rear the thermostat housing you can try unpluging the wire and cleaning the connection . There is another sensor the ECT that is the engine coolant tempature sensor that has more wires to it and is not the problem that tells the computer what the temp is the sending unit tells the gauge so don't mix up witch one you are working on

Fan runs continually on a 1995 dodge intrepid.

CHANGE THE FAN RELAY. THERE ARE SMALL CONTACTS ON THE INSIDE THAT OPEN AND CLOSE WHEN THE SENSOR TELLS THEM TO. THESE CONTACTS COULD POSSIBLY BE FUSED TOGETHER FROM EXCESSIVE HEAT. THIS SHOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM. HOPE THIS HELPS. KEEP ME POSTED. THANKS FOR AN HONEST RATING AND FOR USING FIX-YA. GOOD LUCK

1995 monte carlo overheating

If the radiator fan isn't coming on I would check the coolant temperature sensor which tells the fan to turn on. Check your owners manuel for locations of fuses or relays that control the fan. Lastly you can unplug the fan and direct jumper it to make sure the motor isn't burnt out. I hope this helps.
