Question about Dodge Ram 1500

1 Answer

When I hit the headlight dimmer switch, the windshield wipers turn on. This is on a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

should of added that have already tried a new multi function switch with no luck.... and have checked the wiring and can find no bad spots... unless there is a "hidden typical" problem.... dont know if the totally intigrated power supply might be the prob ????

Hi..

this may be because short circuiting is occuring between the switchs. check the wires connecting the swtich.

i suggest you to change both the switch and later you wont get this problem again.

Most likely a multifunction switch issue. The signals and the wipers share the same switch assembly. I would suspect the problem to be internal to the switch assembly

Dodge ram headlights wont work unless dimmer switch pushed

Could be the headlight switch or the dimmer switch.
I would check for voltage at the dimmer switch first.

You will need to replace the headlight switch and the headlight switch connector, they are burned, it is a comm,on issue. Solder the repair connector on do not crimp connect it!

On a 2002 dodge ram 1500 truck the brake lights and the turn signals and winshield wipers dont work the only brake light that works is above the cab. and the turn signal flashes on the dash like they are...

I suspect a bad multi function switch located in the left hand side of the steering column. This switch controls your high/low beams/wiper delay/windshield washer/turn signals and hazards.

alot of vehicles have a seperate fuse and/or relay for the high and low beams. if you can't find a problem there it could be the swich itself.
