Question about 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

It will crank and run then begin to slow down and then eventually cut off and will not crank again. It has been put on a diagnostic machine and they say everything is fine. They have tested the alternator and starter and it is neither one. What do you think it is? Could it be the computer?

It depends what type of diagnostic machine it was. Some are for computerized controled engines and some are not. If it was a computerized controlled machine it will mention if the computer is failing

Sounds like you're ignition coil.. how does it run after it cools down ? The coil windings in the coil will break down then be ok for a while until they warm up again eventually you'll have no spark .. replace the coil

My bmw 316ti compact keeps cutting out when slowing down towards a junction. The engine/revs shudder and the car locks up. It starts again straight away afterwards but what is causing it and how much

Could be cam shaft sensor or crank shaft sensor first comes first diagnostics to see codes but bmw come up with loads of codes that arnt the problem.

Some cases is:
Vacuum leak
Cam shaft sensor
Crankshaft sensor
Eccentric shaft sensor is a main problem on these cars and maf

Not step on the accelerator of vehicle automatic speed

Automatic vehicle at the beginning will automatically forward, but the speed is not too fast, because the automatic mechanism principle, high running loose throttle speed decreased than manual slow some, is a normal phenomenon. use gna 600 to diagnostic If the initial automatic acceleration, speed has a problem, the problem generally appear in the idle adjustment problems, such as: solar term door fault, the intake system leakage phenomenon, cause idle setting, you can go to your car repair station for inspection repair, in order to accurately determine fault.

I was driving my 2004 Nissan Maxima on the highway, when I came to my exit & a stop light when my car began to ****, and flash the service engine light. It felt like it was going to cut off any minute....

I think you'd be well advised to have the electrical charging system checked. Also check out the negitive connections from the battery to the body....Check all ground connections, and the alternator for output....If you have a digital meter you can do that yourself by placing the positive probe to that side of the battery and the neg to the other....Battery voltage should be around 12.5 with afully charged battery....Once the engine runs you should get an alternator output measured the same way of about 13.5volts. If the engine check light came on you get a scan to be on the safe side....I suspect a bad electrical connection....Best of luck Johngee
