I am looking for the port to charge the air conditioner

I do not know if it's just a modification made on my car, or all Centruies, however I found the low pressure port (blue cap) near the bottom of the radiator, almost directly below the high pressure port (red cap) directly behind the radiator.

I AM ABSOLUTELY STUPID, APOLOGIES TO EVERYONE. I haven't owned a Century for 3 years. I now have a Skylark. Was just one of those senior moments when I started looking for the port. Please have a good laugh on me!

Look in the center of the firewall behind the engine for a black cap that looks like a tire valve stem cap ,......only larger

A mechanic would check the system with a set of pressure gauges. If the compressor is running, the low side would read around 30psi and the high side would be around 250psi. That is how you know if the system is full of freon or not.
You may have to get a professional diagnosis to proceed. If you replace the compressor, the accumulator needs to be replaced and a vac pump is used to pull all of the air out before the freon is added.

I have a 1995 buick century im kinda new at fixin it my air conditioner went out it needs freeon where and how do i fill it not sure need help

Yuo must fill it through the LOW SIDE service port. I cannot tell you EXACTLY where to find it because the locations are different from model to model, year to year and engine size to engine size. You will have to identify the low side line and locate the port.

There are very good videos on this subject at the interdynamics web site. They show how to identify the fittings and how to go about charging the system. Just click the direct link below to go to the site.

It is located under the hood midway on the a/c line next to the firewall. It is the Large line, looks like a tire valve, unscrew the black cap.

You have two lines coming from the condensor on those lines you'll have a port with a cap on it sometimes they are colored blue and red. If so its the blue cap port to charge it if not colored its the larger of the two.

The port is located in the larger of the 2 lines coming from the AC compressor, the charging port will be somewhere on that line with a plastic cap over it, the line goes into a part called an accumulator, it is about the size of a 1lb can of coffee, the port may be there as well, it varies from model to model.

If you want to do it yourself. Most auto parts stores and hardware stores have recharge kits. Purchase a kit with a gauge to prevent overfilling.
