    • Turn on your car. Your Delco radio will show "LOC" in the LED display.

    • Step 2Press and hold down both the second and third preset buttons. Hold these buttons down for at least six seconds.

    • Step 3Write down the two- or three-digit code that appears in the LED display.

    • Step 4Press the AM/FM button on the radio.

  • Step 5Write down the next two- or three-digit code that appears in the LED display. You should be left with either a four- or six-digit number. Turn off your car.

  • Step 6Call the Delco radio automated customer support line at 1-800-537-5140.

  • Step 7Press "1" and then press the pound sign. The automated voice should respond "Invalid code, try again."

  • Step 8Enter the number 139010 into your phone and then press the "*" sign.

  • Step 9Enter the four- or six-digit number you wrote down from Steps 3 and 5, and then press the "*" button.

  • Step 10Write down the four-digit code given by the automated voice.

  • Step 11Turn on your car. Enter the Delco unlock code using the procedure outlined by your GM owner's manual. Normally, the unlock code is entered with the "HR" and "MN" buttons on your radio.

  • Step 12Press the AM/FM button. If you have entered the code correctly, your LED display will read "SEC" and the radio will be unlocked.

Sorry for breaking this post into sections but for some reason it would not allow me to post it all in one post. Kept telling me to shorten the length of the post. All this post was curtorsey of ehow.com

I have tried 1&4. 2&3 and nothing came on the display!

  • elrebane Jul 13, 2010

Nothing come on display after tried 1&4. And. 2&3 what else can I do!

  • NOT ME Jul 13, 2010

If the radio shows inop, you will have to turn the radio on and either leave the ignition switch on for 1 hour or drive the car for 1 hour to return to the lock mode where the procedure will work. Did you do everything in the order as listed? Another thing to try is the last 6 digits of the VIN #. If none of this works call your GM dealer. Some will tell you the code for free. As a last resort you can get the code here for $9.

Okay let me be more specific... I have bought a cd player on a savage yard then I installed in my 2003 chevy silverado, it works for a 2 months then my batteries went down "dead" after jumped got it runnung but, the radio said "locked" I have tried the 2&3 and the 1&4 presset buttons and nothing show on the display... what else can I do?

  • NOT ME Jul 13, 2010

So you replaced the original radio with another GM radio from a salvage yard. Is that correct? If so, the above procedure should work. If it is not a GM radio what make is it?

  • NOT ME Jul 14, 2010

Loc and locked, it means the same thing.

  • NOT ME Jul 15, 2010

I think your radio is in the inoperative mode and you are going to have to leave it on for 1 hour to get it back to the lock mode and try all this again.

    Radios locked

let me see if I can re-state this. I may be able to help. Your battery died and you started the car with a jump from another car or battery charger, and now the radio is "locked". Have you every "locked" the radio before? Does the radio come on?, If you can answer these couple of questions for me we might be able to get you an answer. Thanks, Bill

My potiac g6 died jumped it and now the radio will

The radio most likely went into lock mode as this happens when there is a power interuption as when battery goes dead. Have your dealer unlock radio as they may have to hook up to computer or give you unlock code as I donot know which model of radio you have.

theft lock is for your powertrain.....radio has its own separate code.....can have the code found at dealer or you can pull the radio and call the code in to dealer to turn radio back on
