How do I recharge the AC on a 2002 Chevrolt Malibu?

The only way to know if a vehicle's air condition is properly charged is to use refrigerant gauges to determine the high side and low side pressure while the system is running. Without gauges, there are a few things you can check:
  1. With ambient temperature over 85 degrees Fahrenheit, when you first start the engine for the day, the compressor should engage and stay engaged. If it cycles off and on for more than one minute, or if the compressor fails to engage at all, there is a likelihood that the refrigerant charge is low. (If ambient temperature is under 85 degrees Fahrenheit, a small amount of cycling is normal, but the compressor should remain engaged for a longer time than it is disengaged);
  2. If the compressor is not engaging at all, momentarily place a wire jumper across the two pins of the refrigerant pressure switch connector with the engine running and the system on. The compressor should engage. If it does not, the system is not working properly. If it does, there is likely insufficient refrigerant in the system.

Ac compressor clutch will not engage on my 98 yukon.

The most common cause of no clutch engagement is a low state of refrigerant charge in the system. Have a set of AC pressure gauges hooked up and bypass the compressor cycling switch and check the pressure on the low side charging port, you show shop 28-32 PSI at idle.

AC does not work. Compressor will not engage Blower only blows on high speed. Is the two a related problem? Where should I look to solve the problem

The most common reason for the compressor not engaging is low refrigerant pressure. The ac system has a safety switch that will not allow the compressor to engage when there is not enough refrigerant pressure because the the refrigerant carries the compressor lubricant throughout the system. Have the system checked for proper charge. You probably have a leak. The fan is probably a separate issue.

AC Compressor not engaging on 2000 Chevy Impala. Fuses and AC relay okay. No power at compressor. Need wiring diagram. Also need to know if compressor requires 12v for operation. If not what should voltage...

When your R-134a runs too low it will NOT engage the compressor. You need to refill your a/c system before the clutch will engage, I also suggest finding the leak.

The compressor is not engaging on 96 pontiac transport van

Check wires going into it from harness.. make sure there is no break.. If not have compressor checked at autozone or advanced auto.

Compressor clutch does not engage--100 psi in system-

The compressor will not run without a minimum amount of R-134A. In some cases the compressor will shut itself down and require a reset (disconnect neg battery cable for 20min) prior to adding refrigerant. Best of luck with your AC issue.

A/C Clutch not engaging on my Tuarus 1998

YOU CHECKED ALLOT BUT YOU DID NOT MENTION THE AC COMPRESSOR CYCLING SWITCH, DID YOU TEST IT? DOES THE COMPRESSOR RUN IF YOU JUMP IT, HAVE U CHECKED TO SEE IF THE COMPRESSOR TERMINAL HAS 12 VOLTS AND GROUND WHEN TURNED ON? THE CYCLING SWITCH AND THE COMPRESSOR CLUTCH ARE ALMOST ALWAYS THE PROBLEM WHEN THE SYSTEM IS CHARGED BUT THE COMPRESSOR DOES NOT RUN.

Have you charged the ac. If so check the low limit sw. on the dryer it will cut the power to the compressor if the charge is low or if the sw. fails.
