Question about 2000 Jaguar S-Type

Wipers won't work. No power to motor. Not the fuse.

Wipers won't work. No power to the motor. Not the fuse. My repair shop is referring me to the Jaguar dealership. The closest one is several hours away. Does this sound like something that will be time-consuming/expensive? Is it something that truly needs to be done by the dealership?

You have not mentioned the control relay - check this out first - look in your handbook for location - seem to remember there is one relay for the delay/time/park wiper control in the fuse box in the engine bay, try swapping this relay for same type used on other function (horn?) hope this helps - good luck.

If no power to motor, it has to be a bad wire or the switch. to find out, if power to switch but not out switch is bad.

I guess I should add that my guy said he couldn't tell whether it was a wire, the switch, or the motor. He simply gave it back to me and said it needed to go to the Jag dealer. I hesitate to take it there because of the distance involved.

I have a 2008 GMC Acadia. The wipers stopped working the other day and the high beams won't turn on either. I checked the fuses under the hood and also tried swapping the relay with another one.

Both headlamps an wipers are controlled by the BCM - body control module ! There is a lot involved in turning on the headlamps an wipers , here is GM factory service repair manual description .
Low Speed Operation
When the wiper switch is in the low speed position, ground is applied through a resistor internal to the switch and the wiper switch low signal circuit to the body control module (BCM). In response to this signal, the BCM energizes the WPR relay by applying battery voltage through the wiper relay control circuit to the coil side of the relay. This allows battery positive voltage from the WPR fuse to flow through the switch input side of the WPR relay and out to the switch input side of the WPR HI relay. Since the wiper high relay is de-energized and its switch contacts are normally closed to the low speed control circuit of the windshield wiper motor, the motor will operate at low speed.
Wiper motor low speed operation and the WPR relay can also be commanded ON/OFF by using a scan tool. Refer to Control Module References.
There could be DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes stored in the BCM .
DTC B3715 DTC B3873 DTC B3875 DTC B3922
Your best option would be to have it checked out by a qualified repair shop . Hooking up a diagnostic scan tool to check inputs an outputs of the BCM is the best way to find the problem . Could be the switches (no input to BCM) The BCM could be at fault . There are relays involved in both the headlamps an wipers , couldn't be three relays bad at the same time .

Why is my windshield wipers running in the off position, it's like they are running in the intermittent position, but it's in the off position.

When the windshield wiper / washer switch is turned to the OFF position while the wiper motor is somewhere in mid-cycle, the wiper motor module will continue to operate the wiper motor until the wipers reach the park position. If the ignition is turned off while the wipers are in mid-cycle, the wipers will stop immediately where they are. The wipers will park the next time the ignition is cycled to the ON position.

First I would look in the fuse box by the driver side and check the fuse,if good then get a meter and see if power is going to wiper motor,if so,then wiper motor is bad,if no power is going to motor, then bad switch, here's a link to see. The wiper control module is probably at fault ,without test that is just a guess . The wiper/washer switch is a input to the wiper control module. Do you know anything about automotive electronics an electrical systems ?
  • The Wipers are Inoperative
  • Fuse.
  • Wiper motor.
  • Multi-function switch.
  • Circuitry.
  • Wiper control module.
  • GO to Pinpoint Test B .

Voltage drop testing the power an ground circuits for the wiper control module would be a good place to start . Do you know how to test electrical circuits with a volt meter ?
PINPOINT TEST B: THE WIPERS ARE INOPERATIVE CONDITIONS DETAILS/RESULTS/ACTIONS B1 CHECK FUSE JUNCTION PANEL FUSE 16 (30A)

Won't start

It ended up being corroded wiring. Apparently the wiring from the steering harness to the fuse box under the hood was corroded & had to be replaced.

How to remove the windshield cowl on a 2002 tyota yaris

It can be faulty wiper motor or blown wiper control fuse.

Do you hear any kind of noise when you starter the wiper function. If yes then fuse is ok, but issue is wiper motor.

If no movement at all and no noise then its blown fuse or shorted/loose wiper control wiring:-----
