This sounds like an issue with engine management, probably air flow/fuel mix - as the engine suddenly races, it could also be down to the evap system. the transmission codes are often thrown up due to disparity between eng

Random incorrect messages on the screen of the dash monitor

If the dealer can't figure it out, chances are no one here can either. I would lay it at the dealers feet, as they are ultimately responsible, but if I had to guess I would think your car has a bad ground wire somewhere. The electrical interference will cause all kinds of weird gremlins to come out.

No--- it is a system fault that has to be diagnosed

When you turn on the key, all the dash lights should be
observed & lite ( use your owners manual to get familiar
with them)

After the engine starts-- ALL dash lights-- go off, or you have
a problem with the OBD 2 System, on any vehicle from 1996 on

ANY TRANS related codes or lights you STOP USING IT

IMMEDIATELY

Transmissions are VERY VERY Expensive Repairs & happen
to way too many people, because they won't give up driving the vehicles & ruin then in a heart beat, ten miles is all it takes

Pretty much tells you the system with the fault

Traction Control is embedded into the abs braking
system, so diagnose that using the codes you have,
same as any other obd codes you get

The Reduced Power could be another problem & it
cuts off fuel injectors to save the exhaust converter
from overheating & being ruined

Hello

The engine and the automatic transmission in this vehicle are computer controlled and in most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer replaced (known as the PCM), which is very rarely the problem. Other basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical problems with the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage on the engine. The transmission can have mechanical issues as well such as no gear engagement at all or a failed pump or other pressure related problems.

No spark means no current coming out of coil-hence check for lead coming out of coil and going into distributor and no fuel means pump not working or no supply to pump or clogged line.

The very first thing that needs to be done is to have the level of the automatic transmission fluid checked, if that is OK then you will need a special tool hooked up to check and monitor the electronically controlled transmission for fault codes, this requires a scanner be connected to the diagnostic connector under the dash.

I suspect you have some loose connections or shorts in the wiring harness. I've had similar strange things happen with an Olds Bravada. Various transmission shifting problems, faults, etc. that all seemed to come from the engine's computer system getting incorrect voltages and readings due to wiring faults/shorts.

X-type jaguar automatic (gear box fault)

I have a 2002 X type (2 litre. done 44000 miles), dash showed gear box problem, (red circle light up). I pulled out and turned the engine off. 5 minutes later turned the engine on. The engine running but the car would not drive either in drive or reverse. Turned the engine off again and on the car driving but not much power. The care is taken to the Jag. dealer and told is misfiring + some gear box faults. Suggesting to change some coils and see (cost about £200+). also possible need to change the gear box costing about £2500+. Please advice. Shall I go ahead with the repair? Should I part exchange.
