Question about 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

1 Answer

I turned on my hazard flashers(never came on) and immediately lost my turn signals. Now I have no signals or flashers. I just checked all fuses that I could find and they are still good. Where would the flasher unit be?

    car is a 1995 olds cutlass supreme sl with a 3.1l v6

when I looked at my owner's manual, it shows the main fuse block on the passenger side of the dash panel. faces the passenger door jam. Only other power boxes are under hood. The owner manual show just how this car is set-up. Did they change layout between '95-'96? Also, there is no connectors in #6 position on my fuse block. hazard flasher is #5 position, 15 amp.

I cannot find the component center. I pulled the cover from the right side of the instrument panel, but the only thing I see is the main junction box which has no flashers or breakers or anything like that. I am wondering if this is a flasher problem or if it is in the multi function switch?

Hello! It's a flasher problem...Lets begin by verifying the vehicle...There are times the information I see is incorrect...Year, make, model, and engine...Saailer

Hello! Way under the instrument panel...to help pinpoint the location...find the Brown wire in the turn signal connector and follow it back...Other side of flasher is an Orange wire...Fed by fuse # 6 (15A) located under or in the glove compartment...

Hello! Sorry for delay...You own a 1995 1/2 ...The turn signal switch is indeed a multi-function switch...However, the Hazard Flasher is located under the dash...In the convenience center...on the LEFT side kick panel...

The hazard back lights wont quit blinking when car is running even when i pull the fuse on a 2002 buick regal

What fuse are you pulling ?

Hazard Lamps
The hazard warning switch is part of the turn signal switch. The turn signal switch receives battery voltage at all times through the HAZARD SWITCH Fuse. When the hazard switch is placed in the HAZARD position, battery voltage is applied to the hazard lamp/turn signal lamp flasher. The hazard lamp/turn signal lamp flasher sends a turn signal flasher signal to the turn signal switch. The turn signal switch provides all of the turn lamps and turn indicators with the turn signal flasher signal, simultaneously flashing them on and off.

Turn Signal Lamps
The front turn signal lamps are made up of the front park/turn signal lamps and rear turn signal lamps. The front turn signal lamps flash with the rear turn signal lamps when a turn is initiated using the turn signal/multifunction lever. The turn signals will operate only with the ignition switch in the RUN position and will not operate during hazard flasher operation.
When the ignition is turned to the RUN position, battery voltage is supplied to the TURN SIGNAL Fuse. Battery voltage is then applied through the turn signal fuse circuit to the turn signal switch. When the turn signal switch is placed in the LH or RH position, voltage is supplied to the hazard lamp/turn signal lamp flasher. The hazard lamp/turn signal lamp flasher supplies a turn signal flasher signal to the turn signal switch. With the turn signal switch in the LH or RH position the corresponding turn signal indicator, rear turn signal, and front turn signal receive the turn signal switch signal and will flash. The front turn signals receive the turn signal switch signal from the turn signal switch via the BCM. The turn lamps are permanently grounded.

Replace the turn signal switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.

I'd be checking the fuses first. The turn signal flasher should be in the inside fuse panel.

Turn signals wont work but flasher an lights come on

If the hazard flasher is working but the turn signals aren't, the problem is most likely either fuse A11 or the #2 relay in the trunk fuse block. However, if these check out, the problem could be either the turn/hazard switch assembly or the turn flasher module.

If both the turn signals and hazard flasher are not working, the most likely problem is the turn/hazard switch assembly.

My toyota 92 pickup truck turn signals don't work;

Try changing out your turn signal flasher.it might be under your dash by your fuse box. Some trucks have two one for turn signals one for 4 way flashers.By all means check the fuse first.

Turn signals won't come on inside or outside of car but hazard lights come on inside and outside of car

Check turn signal fuse, if fuse is good, check turn signal flasher, this is identical to hazard flasher, I believe on the 1997 it is located under the dash near the center console. The turn signal and hazard flashers are the same part number so try switching places with them and see if the turn signals work. If turn signals work after switching them you need a flasher.

Haz flashers wont work but blinkers do

There are 2 seperate flashers 1 for turn signals and 1 for hazard. The hazard flasher is located in the convenance center the turn flasher in the fuse box. Also seperate fuse's for each. One battery circuit for hazard Ignition for turn signals.Check fuse for hazard,if good try swapping in the turn signal flasher and see if hazards work. They use the same flasher unit.

Sounds like the flasher unit to me. Normally the emergency flasher and turn signal are separate.
