Test glow plugs if 6 liter on the side of the head test for electricity geting to them during glow plug cycle then test each one for continuity carfull study the plugs they are a little ****

P0171 and P0174 are telling you that each cylinder bank is running too lean. P0300 is telling you there is a misfire, possibly caused by the other codes. This is why the engine is running rough.

I Think Your Problem Is Still With The Fuel Supply,Have You Changed all Fuel Filters,Follow All The Fuel Lines Make Sure There Are No Kinked Fuel Hoses,Some Times You Find Small Filters In The Top Of The Fuel Injectors.

Key is out of ignition switch, motor stops but cooling fan still running with whistling sound in my 1997 Dodge Caravan


Cooling fans running is okay. vehicles "superheat" during the time immediately after shutdown. With more aluminum in engine construction, major temp swings are problematic.

I presume that the fans eventually shut down...this is normal and very much needed.

Check out clarks-garage.com he has a complete troubleshooting guide for your cooling system along with a schematic. In short, check the low speed resistor on the firewall. Should be around one ohm.

Rough running engine at temp


0340 is camshaft position sensor and the other 0325 is the knock sensor. Chances are you need to replace the sensors and good to go.

This sounds like a PCM overheating. I would have the truck looked at with a professional shop. I don't recommend a website diagnostic on this one or home repair either. when was the last time the oil was changed on either one off these vechs. on the one hand the cam sensor is located in the timing cover with a spring, this will not cause a no start our dying problem but will set a cel light. if the egr passages is pluged up it will cause a egr problem hard start no start rough ilde. o2 sensor can cause a rough ilde but will also set a code . what is the mech condation off these vechs. run a commpession test and a vauccmn test. if these two items show bad readings our result. these two test should be done frist
