I had the car towed to a mechanic today. He said the strut and spindle need to be replaced.

Massive deformation of the suspension on that wheel. Have it fixed immediately, it's  huge security risk and if caught with it in that position your insurance will be voided and you will be considered guilty for everything.

I'm sorry. The above is a typo. My car is a 1996 328i BMW. Can you give me a range of how costly it is to repair something like this?

  • Azrael SRL Jul 12, 2010

That depends entirely of the damage done.
Best case scenario - if it's just a deformed control arm  - less than $400: $100 for the arm plus the labor.

Worst case scenario - the shock and the subframe are also deformed - easily over $1000.

What is causing my right front tire to lean inwards at the top

Usually if the tire is leaning noticeably, it's a bad ball joint or radial arm bushing.

On my 2000 sierra the front passenger tire leans inward on the top n there is no brakes what can it all be

did you hit a curb or pot hole on that side? this can cause the leaning wheel. also if the camber shim or adjustment is loose will cause it also. no brakes sounds like a brake fluid leak if you talking about the same side or if its both sides it could be the master cylinder.

I have a 97 Chevrolet Silverado just recently I had noticed my passenger front side tire leaning inward at the top and outward at the bottom. My shocks were already bad so those were changed as were the...

If your ball joints and shocks are good then you need to get the front end aligned. Repeated usage will eventually knock things out of line anyway, but worn shocks will speed the process up. so will worn ball joints.

Front passenger wheel leaning on 98 expedition

This is most likely a ball joint problem. If you can, jack that tire up in the air and see if you can move the whole tire in and out from the top. Try to see if there is movement in the ball joints while you move the tire. If that is not the problem, it could be a wheel bearing, but i would check the ball joints first. Hope this helps.

Front tires lean in on my Lincoln cartier

You need a front end shop to inspect the front end, do not drive this until the problem is repaired.

Why does my front passenger tire lean outwards at the bottom and inwards at the top?

The most common problem would be a bad lower ball joint. It could also be bad control arm bushings or a combination of the two. Neither is an expensive repair. This should be checked out and repaired soon as it could cause control issues. Hope this helps.

F-150 Front end grinding

if its coming from your front tire more than likely it your front wheel bearing.

jack up the front end and wiggle the tire at the top and bottom. if it wiggles around in the hub, (Not the suspension) your wheel bearing is worn out. you will also probably notice your tire is leaning in or out not straight.
